James didn’t seem to be planning on coming in as his creepy self. Thank gods he skipped his “evil” laugh, I wasn’t sure I could stop myself from slapping him again.
“Woah woah woah, why aren’t you killing her with style Tate?” he complained as he came into the light.
“Hey fatso! I told you he would come if I tried physical abuse,” she talked to him like an old friend, which is what kinda concerned me. Yet, she talked to him like I would when I show that I’m not afraid of him anymore. Her old murderous glare came back and she used it on James. “Now what do you want? Why am I in a retarded looking cave?” she harshly asked.
“You are supposed to weaken her! Not kill her with one slash!” he continued to criticize her.
“I get it, has Gaea gotten tired of your cliché killing ways so she replaced you?” I taunted him.
“That is none of your concern!” he yelled at me, his face red of embarrassment. Yep, he got replaced.
“Am I too amazing for the ‘oh-so-special’ James?” Tate sarcastically asked.
“No! You are supposed to torture her!” James continued to correct her.
If Tate is supposed to kill me, well then she is obviously more murderous and clever. James must feel rejected, which he is. At this state of rejection, he would take all the compliments that he can get without questioning.
“What? Torture me? Tate couldn’t do it right, but James definitely could!” I exclaimed as I walked over to James. He slowly started to take out his sword; at least he wasn’t that stupid.
“Of course I can torture people, I’m probably better than James. Actually, I am better than James,” Tate told us as she carelessly plopped onto the ground.
“Psh, James has a talent,” I rolled my eyes as I copied the careless way that the popular girls would walk.
He lightly blushed and said, “Oh yes I do.”
“Yeah…” I than made a fist and had it collide with his face as a soccer punch. “Of thinking I would let him kill me again again again!” I added as I scurried out of his reach.
He growled and chased after me. Tate saw the opportunity and sprang on top of him. Tate decided to make him feel the worst pain possible, pulling his hair. I quit running and walked over, interested in the events that were going on.
“Listen here, I won’t be controlled by your psycho master anymore. You tell her that since she can’t see me today. You tell her this as well before I start the fun. You tell her that I’m not a clingy pet. I can’t and won’t be controlled. Now that’s done, Frankenstein or the original one?” she threatened.
James vanished out of thin air, probably shadow travel. Normally you would have to run to be able to shadow travel but since James has done so many things for villans, then he would have gotten a lot of power from them. Especially working for someone that is as powerful as Gaea.
I stared in awe at the empty space that James was once at. “I wish I had thought of that,” I admitted, referring to the fact that I should’ve tried to dirt travel out. But my powers were useless in there, so then I realized it would have been a failed attempt.
“Well, my mind is very creative from what I have been doing,” Tate explained, thinking that I had meant I wish I thought of tackling James. Actually, I would probably fail if I tried that because I am not the strongest person that you will ever meet.
“Seems legit,” I then realized what Tate was saying. She was actually in my position now, stuck until she was killed. “Were you saying that you want more respect from Gaea or were you saying that you quit?”
“It’s already done,” she answered mysteriously.
I knew that Gaea was not going to give up on Tate, probably try some other ways to weaken her. “Hope you don’t mind me saying it, but that is inspiring. Now I know that I don’t have to stay on one side once I switch. Remember that if I can fight my mom, you sure as heck can destroy your couple of greats grandmother,” I told her. I wasn’t just saying that because she needed encouragement, that is the reason why I told her, but not the reason I said it. She actually just earned my respect.
“I have practice fighting. It’s in my blood, but so is cowering in my own grave. You think you are safe but you’re falling more and more into it. I guess I got tired of it and climbed out of it. Um, how’s the sis?” Tate asked.
“Last I checked, she was going to bed. We are in a hotel so it isn’t like anyone can do anything,” I reassured her. She may be nicer now, but I was still sure that she would slit my throat if Olive gets hurt.
“Great to know. So what happens in here? This James guy tells you something and slowly kills you? Or just makes you suffer until you die?” Tate wondered.
“It is different every time,” I admitted. “It is fun because I easily outsmart him whenever he talks. Usually Gaea is talking a lot and saying a bunch of crap. She thinks that I am going to join her side, she is hilarious,” I smirked.
“Well, this will be easy enough. Let’s get out of this cage,” Tate decided.
Okay. Now that we have faith in ourselfes, let’s just kill ourselves. Side-affects may include waking up screaming,” I joked.
“I do that every day, weapon in hand?” she asked.
I nodded and held up my dagger. “Which way is quicker, heart wrist or neck?” I asked. She was used to doing this to others, so she would know.
“I’d say neck. There is a stronger chance that you’ll miss your heart and survive. Just cut deep in the neck and you’ll bleed out instantly. Count of three?” Tate informed me, getting her own knife in position.
I took a deep breath and nodded, “Okay, 1…” I squeezed my eyes shut, getting ready for the pain to come.
“2…” she continued with the count. She didn’t seem hesitant about killing herself, so I didn’t see why I had to be.
I lifted my head, confidence filling my body as I looked forward. “3” we both confidently said and sliced our necks at the same time.
