Explaining to a Stranger

"I know that you think you are protecting her.  I know that you aren't protecting her.  She is going to die along with the whole world.  Along with the rest of your family,” I instantly regretted saying that last part because it set her off.

She started to fight against the roots and vines, I made them grow faster but they could barely keep up with the speed that she used to destroy them. "You know nothing about my family!" she screamed while she continued to fight the vines with a knife.

“If you had any information on my family, you wouldn’t be acting this way,” I muttered, mostly concentrating on making the vines grow thicker.  With the amount of energy that I was using on just keeping her under control, it was a miracle that I could even stand up.  “I know that they are on Earth, and everyone on earth will die if I don’t get that demigod!" I confessed.

"I. Don't. Know. Where. She. Is." Tate growled.  She probably thought that I was actually going to give up.  I barely ever give up.  The only time I have ever given up was when I was trying to open a pickle jar, but I worked at it for hours.

"Then tell me her description!  Tell me the last place you saw her!" I yelled at her.  I glanced over at the wreck and to my horror, I saw that the van was completely crushed in one spot.  The girl that I was supposed to help was already dead, died in the crash. "Oh, I get it,” I sadly muttered.  My anger drained away, I didn’t see a point in living anymore.  The vines retracted at my command, knowing that they were no longer needed at the moment.   Ick fell over, I had accidently got one of the pressure points on him, I had forgotten to avoid that area if I wanted the person awake the whole time.  "Funny prank Dionysus.  I'm showing exactly how funny this is," I said, looking at the crash was a bored expression.

"I don't know what's wrong with you but I will not and I repeat will not trust my sister with you. At all. Even if you are both Greek,” Tate exclaimed, continuing to ramble on.  I felt like I just accepted the fact that I couldn’t go to a concert because there was too much homework, then when I am finally at peace with it, my dad comes in and says “You wouldn’t even be able to go if you didn’t have homework because the car is completely broken.  Of course, that never happened before because I never wanted to go to a concert and because my dad isn’t even aware of my existence.

You should have listened to me.  I am always right, now join me, my mother commanded.

"Fine!  My life is dead!  I'm dead!  Are you happy now?  My time as a Greek is dead!  I can say good bye to my family, I can say goodbye to my life!  My time as a girlfriend is dead!  My brother is going to die!  I'm going to die!  Are you happy mom?" I yelled at a tree.  Even though I knew that it was probably just in my head, I think that I saw a crease in the tree go into a smirk.

"Her name is Olive and you better take care of her," Tate informed me.

I wiped my eyes that were starting to water.  I know that I should’ve been furious that she hadn’t told me earlier, but I was too relieved.  "Really?  Thank you.  I thought my mom decided to send me on an impossible quest so then I would join her.  Where is she?"

"One, never thank me again. Two, if you hurt her I will personally hunt you down and slit your throat. Three, she is over there,” Tate told me.

I rushed over to the wreck as I yelled, “"At least I know you won't slit my throat" over my shoulder.  I furiously started to scan the wreck, looking for a way to get in and save her if she was trapped.  “Sorry Dionysus, I shouldn’t have doubted you,” I muttered.

He is probably still screwing you, Gaea tried to convince me.  I stabbed the tree that the car had crashed into and swifly took the blade out and put my dagger into my boot.

“Shut up,” I mumbled as started to study the wreck again.
