I felt coldness cling to me and I shivered.  “Wake up!  Wake up!” Dan yelled.  I opened my eyes and sat up, still feeling the coldness.  I looked up at Dan, whom held an empty bucket and then down at my body, which was soaked.

“Could you find a better way to wake up people?  Every time you woke me up, I ended up having some kind of injury,” I sighed.

“How is cold water an injury?” he joked.

“I don’t know, what would you call it?”

Dan shrugged.  “Where you getting beat up by little kids or something in your dream?”

“Why?” I got goose bumps, either from the thought of the flowers or from the coldness of the water.

“You kept on saying ‘Ow, use your words!’” he laughed.

“I was being beat up by sunflowers, thank you very much for getting me out of there.”

“You are welcome,” he gestured to my stuff.  “We should get going soon.”

I nodded, packing my blanket into my bag, wrapping it so it would cover my poetry book. “Why are you always up before me?”

“Because I wake up right when the sun rises.  It is an Apollo thing,” he laughed.

“Wow, how would you explain that while you are at a sleep over?”

He slanted his eyebrows to make himself look confused.  “Guys don’t have sleep overs.”

I rolled my eyes.  “Whatever, you know what I mean.” I zipped my bag up and slung it around my shoulder.

After we got out of the house through a window that might have been broken before we were there, we got on the sidewalk.  “Do you think that we are ever going to get out of Ocala today?”

“Yeah, do you know of any transportation around here?” he asked.

My eyes lit up, happy that he was not going to try to do the whole quest by himself.  “There is a train nearby.”

“You been in this part of town before?”

“No, but I do remember hearing a train before I went to sleep,” I shrugged.

“It could be miles away!”

“Well, were we are going is hundreds of miles away,” I smiled, treating him as if he was really slow.

He rolled his eyes, probably getting the habit from me.  At this rate, he is going to start saying y’all all of the time.

We walked for a few hours until I felt like we were being followed.  I turned around to look at the side walk behind us, which was completely bare.  Nothing was on the streets other than a white car that was parked on the side.

“What is it?” Dan whispered.

“Nothing,” I whispered back, not sure if I was just having a panic attack.  “Nothing that I know of.”

“Oh please, just tell me,” he pleaded.

“Just an instinct.  Could be a late reaction or possibly a warning of something to come.”

“Yeah,” he laughed.  “That is nothing at all,” he sarcastically stated.

“Hello,” a teen appeared in front of us.  She had strawberry blonde hair that went to her shoulders and were in beautiful curls.  She had crystal blue eyes that sparkled in the sun.  She wore a strapless lime green sundress that went down to a few inches below her hips with matching sandals.  Around her neck was a golden chain that had a sunflower charm on it.  Her smile was so bright that it almost blinded me.

“Hi,” Dan stuttered, awestruck.  She fluttered her thick eyelashes.

“What is a guy like you doing with a thing like that?” she asked, glaring at me.

“I’m sorry, but you must be confused.  He is with me, not that,” I snapped, gesturing to her perfect face.

“If you are going to give comebacks, made sure that they make sense before you say them,” she smiled, thinking that she won this little word battle.

“If you are going to give advice, give it to someone who could actually use it,” I smiled innocently to try to make it look like I was not even trying.

She rolled her eyes, which basically means that I won but she is too weak to admit it.

I mimicked her eye roll and did a duck face to imitate her attitude.

“Who are you?” Dan asked, probably just came back after daydreaming of them having picnics and kissing.  My hands went into fists thinking that he might possibly be into that.

“Nice to know that someone here has some manners,” she sweetened up.  “Clytie, but my friends call me Chloe.”

“I guess that I will call you Chloe just because your real name is not worth memorizing,” I snapped.  She was flirting with Dan and that is just not what you do.
