Lorex

Aphrodite came out of nowhere, just showing up like the goddess she is.  She was beautiful and she kept on becoming more beautiful by the second, her looks shifting to becoming even more perfect.  I looked away from her and focused on her lips that kept changing shape and color.  Aphrodite walked elegantly to us; her dress was shimmering whenever she moved.

“Hello children,” she breathed.  Her appearance caused all of us to go frozen and silent.  I get that she is a goddess and all, being thousands of years old, but I still didn’t like being called a child.

“Hello Aphrodite, goddess of love and beauty,” I sighed, careful not to make any enemies.  She was not the kind of person that should be upset, she could mess anyone up.  “Is there anything that we could help you with?”

“Just one thing,” she formally stated.  She then beamed at us with perfect teeth and pranced around Alex and I.  “I ship Lorex!  I ship Lorex!” she laughed delightedly as she continued to chant.

Rain quickly got over her shock and joined Aphrodite.  “I ship Lorex!  I ship Lorex!” she chanted.

I stared at them, a little worried about their mental health.  “Disney much?” I asked.

“What does that mean?” Rain stopped prancing around and got out of Aphrodite’s way before she could bump into her.

“I ship Lorex!  I ship Lorex!” Aphrodite continued to chant.

“By that I mean, the people just fall in love and get married the next day.  That doesn’t happen in real life,” I explained.

“What?” Aphrodite stopped chanting and looked me in the eyes.

“Sorry, I mean that isn’t what I am like,” I corrected myself, remembering that I couldn’t make enemies with Aphrodite.  That would be the worst nightmare ever.

“Well, ever since you murdered that Fawn that I wanted so badly, you owe me,” she pouted.

“You killed a fawn?” Alex looked at me, confused.

“No, that is some ship that never sailed,” I stated.  I remembered that he was out there, looking for me.  I just left him to die on a quest to find me.  I shook my head; he should be the one that should be sorry.

“Is that a tear I see?” Aphrodite squinted at my eyes.  She then beamed brightly with delight, “I knew it!  You still had feelings for him!”

“Sure I do, I feel like I don’t want him to die.  I feel that way about almost everyone,” I shrugged.

Aphrodite’s smile disappeared, “You are just about as hopeless as Sky.”

“I thought that she was awesome, she is like the hope-lifter!” I defended her.

“Who is Sky?” Rain asked.  “Who is the other half of Fawn?”

“No one, no one,” I answered, just wanting to leave.  “What did you come here for?”

“To tell you something, in private,” she dragged me by the arm and left Rain and Alex to talk.

“What is it?” I asked.

“There is something that is important to me, even more important than Lorex,” she whispered.

“More important than the newest ship?” I asked, shocked at what I was hearing.

“Yes, my daughter, Apricot,” she informed me.

I nodded, not knowing exactly where she was going with this.  “And what is it that I need to do?” I wondered.

“I need you to get over to where she is, and then save her.  I sent you that dream last night so you know her background,” she told me.  She then gave me the information that I needed so I could get there.  I grasped on to every word that she said, it was easy to remember what she told me because her voice was so memorable.  When she was done telling me all that I needed to know, she left in a flurry of flowers.  I walked back to my friends and weakly smiled.

“What did she want to talk about?” Rain asked.

“She told me about someone that I need to save,” I admitted.  “Her daughter.”  Alex seemed relieved when I said that I was saving a girl.

“Great, so I guess that we really do have an adventure,” Rain cheered.

I felt guilty that I had to burst her bubble, but I had to tell her.  “Sorry, but I have to go alone.  Otherwise, she would have told all of us,” I pointed out.  They nodded, understanding.  I picked my bag off the ground and swung it around my shoulder.  “Peace out!” I smirked,  using my shoes to fly away.
