I stared into the eyes of the ancient woman; her eyes were a pale blue, the most human part of her. The rest was in layers of wrinkles and her hair was a snowy white braid that went to her shoulder blades.
I took deep breaths, I hated saying no to those that look like they are in pain. My eyes were planted on her the whole time, looking for signs of threats that she could possibly have.
“If you really care that much about children of that god, then I think that you should be thankful that I am protective over who enter this room. So you shouldn’t feel that bad unless you are just trying to guilt me into letting you in,” I confidently informed her. “Like I said before, you can leave or I can kill you. I don’t mind what you choose because no matter what, I’m not hurt either way.”
“Thy would die just to see her,” the historical woman begged.
“I would die to keep her alive, so I guess that both of us are going to die. I don’t have a problem with dying right here, but you probably would. I heard that the doors of death aren’t working that well anymore, so you would be in heck for the rest of time. Is that what you want?” I asked, making up the facts as I went along.
She quickly shook her head and hobbled off. “Don’t worry, all you did was avoid a fight,” I whispered to myself. The woman turned around, furry burning through her eyes.
She pointed one long bony finger and yelled, “YEE SHALL BE THE ONE OF FAULT, FOR YOU WILL ONLY CAUSE ASSULT!” A dark green cloud of mist came from her finger, coming towards me to take away all that I stood for.
This actually isn’t so bad, want to join my side after that fog takes over and you turn evil? I will stop you from killing the little girl if you do so, Gaea promised me.
I shook my head and walked towards the green fog that was coming closer and closer. The door shut behind me, meaning that if anything happened to me then Olive would be safe inside the hotel room, away from me.
The fog actually went around me, but then started to circle my body quickly until everything was just a green blur. I squeezed my eyes shut, waiting for the impact of hatred to come but it never did. When my eyes opened after a few moments, they saw nothing out of the ordinary. The green fog was even gone.
I didn’t feel any different, in anyway. When I looked down at my body, I saw that I was radiating gold. Soft music could be heard; apparently it was my current mute curse that was fighting the new curse that wanted to take over.
My curse that makes me write poems every day was actually more of a blessing on that day. If it weren’t for Apollo giving me that curse, I would have went mad. Looking up at the Sun, and then instantly regretting it and dropping my eyes on the ground, anyway, I thanked Apollo for actually giving me something besides a crazy father, golden book and a curse.
Taking that peaceful moment, I returned to the door of our hotel room. And of course like always, I was locked out.
