I woke up, screaming again as usual. Even though I knew that it was not really happening the whole time, it still caught me by surprise. “Ow!” I turned to see Dylan by my bed, covering his ears. He must have just gotten up because he had messy hair.
“I was trying to wake you up for about ten minutes now!” he complained.
“I wake up when I wake up. I hardly can control when I do,” I explained as I lazily walked to the drawer against the wall that had my clothes inside. I had three compartments, one for shirts, one for pants, and one for whatever else I needed to wear.
I took out a lime green shirt and black jeans out of the drawers then looked around. The whole Demeter cabin was there and heard my screaming. “It was just a nightmare,” I lied to get them to stop staring. “We all get them once in a while.”
They shrugged and started going along with their normal day.
“I think that you might need some help if your dreams are really that bad,” Dylan whispered.
“It’s nothing,” I assured him. “If you have any dreams about mom, tell me,” I whispered.
“I think that I can handle mom,” Dylan silently bragged.
“Sure,” I sighed, remembering when I used to believe that I can handle anything.
“But really, I think that you need help,” he urged me. “We are going to go to Chiron.”
Dylan grabbed by marked arm with his uncovered marked arm. “Wait,” I harshly whispered. “Get a jacket on.”
He rolled his eyes and slipped on while I rushed to the restroom and changed into my clothing. When I came out, Dylan instantly started complaining. “Why do I have to wear a jacket but you don’t?”
“Because…fine,” I groaned as I put on my denim jacket. It must have been 90 degrees outside and I was wearing a jacket, I guess that it was only fair.
Dylan walked with me to the big house, Dylan nervously breathed the whole time. “Does he know?” I whispered to him. Dylan shook his head, I envy him. Chiron seems to not like me because of my mom. Maybe it was because he couldn’t kick me out because his parent was not so good either.
“Are you sure that you want to come?” I asked.
Dylan nodded, “I’m your big bro, and it’s my job to know every detail of your life.”
I stiffened a little, but then forced myself to keep moving. He didn’t need to know EVERYTHING that I have done. If he did, I think that he would be scared of me.
The big house was empty as usual with Chiron looking at papers on his desk. I sometimes wonder if there is any end to his work. He looked up at me and smiled nicely as a greeting. “Is there a problem?”
“No,” I carefully answered.
“Then why are you here?”
I thought a moment then remembered why I even came here. “Oh yes, I have just been having unusually violent nightmares.”
“That’s normal. I’m glad that you are here because I need to ask you for to do a favor.”
“Um…” I paused. “It depends on what it is.”
“Remember those two girls from three days ago?”
“Yeah, how could I forget?”
“Well, I need you to look after them,” Chiron informed me.
“Them? One of ‘them’ are dead. How do I look after a dead person?”
Chiron chuckled at my lack of knowledge. “It is very common for demigods to come back to life, definitely now that the doors of death are a little weaker. If I am correct, Annie should be waking up any moment now.”
“Okay, I can do that,” I assured him.
“Really? You aren’t an Apollo kid so how do you know about cures?” Chiron questioned.
“I started reading a lot on the subject,” I shrugged. When Dylan and I walked out, I told him to go on to his normal schedule. He protested for a while until I pointed out that it would be best if he was trained some more. With that, I went into the infirmary alone to check on Annie and Apricot.
