"James, this is wrong," Dan commented. "I was in your shoes just a few minutes ago and it took a while, but I realized that it just must stop."
He was answered with the loud cackling from James. "Oh, you're serious?" he asked. "I guess that you won't be getting any powerful positions soon."
Dan gulped, he must have been quite tempted by the offer. "No. Ultimate power is not worth ultimate pain."
"No? Well, Dan, I like you. As a bro of course, so I won't snitch you out to Gaea," James offered. "You are just having second thoughts about your first kill, I understand. I'll just take care of it for you if that is the case."
"I said no and I am not changing my mind. Gaea must not rise, nor shall the Titians follow her. The Gods may not be what we want, they are what we need," Dan explained. "And you are right, I am having second thoughts about my first kill. Unless you would rather join the side with sense, I think that I would much prefer to rid of you."
"Oh really? Little ray of sunshine is going to defeat a kingdom of darkness?" James challenged, his aura of death becoming stronger.
"One wise man had once said this. 'Darkness can't drive out darkness, only light can do that," Dan quoted.
"Actually he meant that hate can't defeat hate, only love can do that," James laughed.
"Well he was wrong on that." Dan took his bow from around his shoulder, it must be charmed to always appear when he needs it. He knocked an arrow and aimed at James. "I will let it go."
"Come at me bro."
The arrow was released, but the little scumbag summoned a dead girl. The arrow shot her in the head, she fell down groaning. "Do your really want to shoot another arrow? We could do this all night," James smirked. I could tell that Dan was scarred from the arrow piercing the little girl even if she was probably dead for a few centuries.
Dan caved in and tapped the top of his bow. It turned into a golden colored sword and he charged James.
I allowed the boys to fight, my powers were useless because my mother out powered me in that area. It was like trying to call someone when your mom took away your phone service, you're screwed.
"You have been a naughty child. Time to stop," Gaea whispered. "Think about your dad, must he really live the life of a satyr?"
In the corner of my eye, I sensed motion and saw that the vine was moving. It occurred to me, she planned to have my father to climb the tree and fall, just like how Dionysus's satyr friend had died. My ribs heaved as my heart pounded, trying to remember what I had to do. "Abandon the source, simple and plain."
"Must you work yourself into an orphan?" Gaea cooed. "You will not live a life nearly as nice as Annie, that doesn't happen to all foolish children."
"Help the dead not die in vain," I croaked, suddenly unsure about my actions. My father had been taken into Hell to be tortured, I was not sure whether I would want to save him from it or allow his pain to end.
"Are you, are you?" she sang, my father immerged from around the tree. He wobbled on his legs as if intoxicated. Burn marks claimed his body along with scratches that would create scars. His breathing was loud and quickly paced as he stumbled on the roots that lay before him.
"Yes darling?" he heaved.
"Coming to the tree?"
"Help the dead not die in vain!" I screeched, hearing the grunts of the two boys sword fighting behind me.
