“So we are going to go all the way to Florida, just to go all the way back to New York to some camp?” Olive questioned. “At least my legs will look good afterwards.”
“If you can feel them afterwards,” I teased. Pointing out things to burst someone’s bubble is just a hobby of mine, but I don’t do it that often. “Would you rather have really muscular legs by walking 1500 miles or to travel some other way that is much faster and less tiring?”
“What do you think I would choose?” she asked.
“Walking 1500 miles it is,” I decided as we walked on the sidewalk.
“You sound like a dad,” she commented as she ran her fingers through her hair then put it into a high ponytail.
“That is exactly who we are going to see,” I shrugged, not exactly knowing how to respond. I led her away from the sidewalk and into a Seven Eleven gas station.
“So we are taking a car?” she asked with confusion written on her face. She was probably disappointed because she thought that we would travel like Aladdin with his magic flying carpet.
“No, just wait to find out. It is hard to explain,” I instructed.
I led her to behind the gas station and then held her hand. She yanked her hand back and mentally facepalmed myself for not realizing what it looked like.
“Relax, it is just my way of traveling,” I tried to reassure her, but it didn’t help my case.
“What the heck? Get away from me!” she screeched.
“Oh gods,” I sighed. “To be able to travel with my magic thingy, I think I must be touching you to bring you along,” I explained.
“Fine then, touch me just don’t hold my hand,” she protested.
“Are you willing to take the risk of me just disappearing, leaving you to fend for yourself?” I questioned.
“I am willing to take that risk,” she smiled, showing that she would actually want that to happen.
I rolled my eyes and locked elbows with her. With her stiff and me probably shaking from fear of what could happen, I pictured my dad’s house and we sunk into the ground.

We arose in front of my dad’s house, nothing had changed. The small brick house still had its planked deck with steps in the front and the rocking chair still rocked from the wind.
“Why am I covered in dirt?” Olive complained. “I didn’t sign up for this.”
I ignored her as I took my first step forward, and exhaustion covered me and I fell forward. Fighting the tiredness was only making me even more exhausted, then I realized what had happened. Traveling by myself took tons of energy and I had to fight halfway to stay awake. But traveling with yourself and another person? That drains me a lot more so it is nearly impossible to fight back.
I couldn’t help it as I gave up and the fight and allowed myself to go to sleep. Even the screaming from Olive didn’t shake me.
Wait, screaming? I thought to myself, but it was too late because I was already sleeping.

Again, I found myself in the cave. Right when I started reaching for my blade so I can wake myself up, I heard someone yell “WAIT!”
I looked around, trying to locate the voice but I was just in a circle of light that was lit by a torch and everything outside the circle as in pitch blackness.
“Who the Hades are you?” I moodily asked.
“I’m your soul mate,” someone mysteriously claimed.
“Oh really?” I challenged. “What makes you think that?”
“I have done so much for you, even saved your life before,” he hinted.
“So you are telling me that someone that is stuck in Gaea’s cave with me is my soul mate? You are probably working for her,” I remarked.
“I did it for you, for us,” he claimed.
“How is joining the side of the enemy helping me?” I scowled.
“Because,” the person stepped out of the shadows and into the light. I covered my mouth quickly to hold in the scream that almost came out. In the light, stood Dan. He was the one who ran away when he realized that I was a daughter of Gaea, the one that put his life in danger when he went back out into the forest to look for me, the one that I rejected because I already had a boyfriend. “I really do regret running away, I mean it. I then realized that if I joined Gaea’s side, then we both would be just as guilty.”
“GUILTY?” I interrupted him. “Guilty? Me? The daughter of the enemy that has been fighting for weeks to stay on the sides of the gods is just as guilty as the child of the gods that is fighting for the enemy? I don’t think so!” I screamed, extremely ticked.
“Calm down,” he tried to hush me. As he made his way towards me, I gave him my murderous glare to try to warn him that he better back off. He just laughed to himself like I was a pathetic kitten trying to roar. His arms wrapped around me, but I quickly pushed him off.
“Get away from me,” I grunted as I walked backwards and bumped into a wall. “I am taken, there is nothing that you can do about it.”
“You better forget all about that old boyfriend or I will kill him,” he threatened.
“What makes you think that I would want to date a murderer? You better get yourself away from me,” I warned.
He put his arms up in surrender as he went into the shadows as he whispered, “Fawn.”
I rolled my eyes and then took out my dagger. Right before I sliced my wrist I whispered “Lorex” the same way.
