Reaching My Limits

I woke up when the car came to a screeching halt and cause my head to slam against the seat in front of me.  I rubbed my forehead, looking at the clock on the dash board.  8:57.

I had plenty of time to write a poem, and it could light up in the dark so I don’t have to worry about light.  “Sorry honey.  You just got some sense in your head, I would hate for you to have lost it in that bump,” Chloe apologized.  I rolled my eyes, she was a real pain and I was going to give her a lot of pain when I am able to talk later on.

“Good, I am glad that you didn’t lose it.  I guess that that big head of yours was up for the job.  You have so little that I don’t think that you can afford to lose any more,” she snapped.

I rolled my eyes again; she really didn’t know when to stop.  I am not even fighting back, so I guess that she thought that she was some kind of alpha that can torture me with comebacks and I couldn’t do anything about it because I was too weak.  Oh, she was so wrong that it was hilarious!

‘Ugh, go kiss a tree or something,’ I mouthed.  She was getting on my last nerve.

“I’m sorry honey, but we all know that you don’t make any sense.  I am glad that you finally learned to shut up.”

The car stopped moving and was stuck.  It was then pulled off the road and to a field of wild grass and trees.  Chloe screeched, afraid of what was happening.  A branch crashed through the driver’s window and hit Chloe hard in the nose.

‘Ha!  I think it made an improvement!’ I silently laughed.  I wasn’t going to let a good joke go to waste, even if no one but me could enjoy it.

Chloe pushed the branch off and started the car.  The engine could be heard, but we weren’t moving.  I held my hand up to stop the others from getting out of the car and got out alone.  I took out my dagger in case something was to attack me.

I saw what the problem was.  Some thick root was wrapped around the front tire.  It didn’t do any damage, but it was wrapped tightly around.  To my touch, it seemed to have relaxed.  I easily unwrapped the root from around the tire, ‘Thank you for trying to help, but this is my battle,’ I mouthed to the root.  The root stayed down, sinking into the ground.

I got into the car to find Dan and Chloe making out yet again.  I pulled their heads apart and faced them both forward.  Chloe started driving, about time.  I was glad that no one asked questions, but they were probably thinking of when the next time is when they could start making out again.

I took out my poem book and started to write my poem so I would be able to talk tomorrow.

Day Five

She shows up

and acts perfect and all.

Not in love,

but a trick he’ll fall.

I wonder when

he’ll get reality’s call.
