Apricot decided that she was going to drive and have Alex and I sit in the back.  Sometimes I wonder if she is trying to hide her mom or not.  If she is trying not to act like a match maker, then she is doing an awful job.  Apricot is a…driver.

I started to wonder if Alex was there even as I was iris messaging Apricot.  Most girls would be creeped out if a guy was following them, but I wouldn’t blame him for following me when I was all secretive about whom I was contacting.  “How long were you there?” I asked, which startled everyone in the car.  Alex was unsure of how to answer the question.

“I followed you once you left,” he looked down, ashamed of himself.  I started wondering if he thought that I was scared of him.

I hated the feeling that I got that told me that he was hurt by my question.  I hated to think that I was causing someone else pain.  “Well, thank you for your help,” I answered truthfully.  If I did have to fight James, it is nice to know that he would be there to help.

“You’re welcome, do you hate me because I did that?” he asked nervously.  I would never hate him, I didn’t even hate Dan when he left me like the jerk he is… okay, maybe I hate Dan a little.

“No,” I started thinking of reasons of why he would follow me.  Maybe he thought that I was going to try to do something for my mother.  Maybe he thought that I was going to contact my mother or possibly James in his kidnapping.

“Okay, thanks,” Alex seemed happy, but I couldn’t help but ruin it to get the betrayed voice out of my head.

“Depends on why you followed,” I finished.  It practically killed me on the insides, but I really had to know.

“I only did it to make sure you were protected.  I care about you and I want you safe,” he told me.

I felt an aura of protection, like he would do anything for me.  Aphrodite was getting in my head or something because I am not like that.

“Thanks,” I sighed as I caved into the instinct.  I leaned against his shoulder; I could tell that Apricot didn’t notice because she didn’t squeal.  The feels were really scary to me; I wasn’t sure why they were so freaky to me.

Apricot cleared her throat and I got up from his shoulder so she would see and make a big deal out of it.  “We are here,” she said as she got out of the car.  I got out too, I hadn’t been in a McDonalds in a long time because I’ve been busy running for my life and stuff like that.
