I look around and see that I am in an Oak tree, the place that Apricot was kept. I saw James in front of a television with some game system. He turned toward me and smiled.
“So you think that you can beat me in Call Of Duty?” he asked. I was relieved that he was not going to laugh creepily because I wasn’t sure if I could hold back another slap again.
“No, I can’t play any kind of video game,” I answered, rolling my eyes. I hated to play video games because I was never patient enough to learn how to play.
“I don’t believe you,” he gestured to the game controller on the floor.
“I have no idea how to play,” I told him, picking up the controller. It felt awkward in my hands, I instantly didn’t like it.
“Ugh, it’s simple. Just use the left analog stick to move, aim with the left button, shoot with the right trigger, and the rest hasn’t changed,” he instructed.
“I have never played any video game, how can you play this? There isn’t even an outlet to plug it in!” I exclaimed.
“I have that,” he pointed to a weird portable outlet.
“Were did you get that?” I asked, impressed by the technology.
“Home Depot,” he answered swiftly.
I rolled my eyes; I saw that commercial about a thousand times. How did I not see that coming?
“Let’s start playing the game!” James exclaimed.
“Fine,” I said, planning to do what I usually do to win a game. Right when the game began, I started pushing the buttons randomly, having my person run into walls and shoot the roof.
“You are really bad at this game,” James smirked as his person started running swiftly to my direction. Right when he got into range, a stray bullet killed him.
“I win!” I cheered as I held my controller in the air.
“What the Zeus? You cheated!” James accused.
“No, I don’t even know how to play! How could I cheat?” I asked.
“Fine, whatever. It was just first timer’s luck. Now let’s play for real,” James growled, restarting the game.
I did the exact same thing this game, and killed him again. This game was a little too easy for me, or maybe James was too easy to beat.
“Again? Ugh!” he exclaimed, throwing the controller at the wall. The controller must have been really strong because it simply just bounced off the wall. It must have been custom made for him. “I’m done playing, this time it is for real.”
“Isn’t that what you said last time?” I asked.
“By real, I mean real,” he laughed, taking out his knife.
“Don’t you ever get tired of killing me? Like, the same person every day? That would get boring because I don’t care if I die.”
“Whatever,” he muttered and stabbed my wrist. The vein that he cut was the important one and the painful one.
I screamed at the sight of my blood gushing out of my arm like a water fountain. I fell to the ground while black spots haunted my vision.
