The wings of my shoes where strong and surprisingly energetic.  My shoes flew with great speed, almost killing me whenever I came close to a tall building.  I felt sorry that I left Alex after Aphrodite told me to.  He might think that he scared me away.  He didn’t, but the ship makers did.

I traveled for hours and arrived right when Aphrodite told me I would.  I left at about 8am and traveled for eight hours and got to Minnesota at 3pm.  I know what you are thinking, I did the math wrong.  But no I didn’t, I included the time zones!

I went to the bench in front of Subway, the sandwich place.  I looked for the girl with brown and apricot colored hair, was pale and had green eyes. I sat there until Apricot showed up, but with a boy.  I wasn’t jealous, well, at least not in that love way.  I was jealous that someone else was already here to save her.  Her mom actually came to me in person to have this girl saved, she must be important.

I looked down at my right arm with the green designs from Gaea.  Will I always have to deal with these markings?  They just remind me that Gaea is my mother and my creator in a way.  “You were made to destroy and take!”  Her words echoed in my head, scolding me for not doing what she wanted.

I watched Apricot as she ate her sandwich, thinking about what she could be capable of if Aphrodite believed in her that much.  While I was thinking about it, Apricot and the boy already left to go to a car.  While Apricot was walking, she collapsed and the boy caught her, putting her in the passenger seat.

The boy was too busy buckling her seat belt to notice that I was walking toward them.  He then got into the driver’s seat and I leaned on the open passenger window.

“What are you doing here?” I asked the boy in the driver’s seat.  It came out a bit harsher than I meant for it to sound, but I had to make sure that he was on the right side.

Apricot stirred out of her sleep and asked, “Ugh…what happened?” she groggily asked.  She looked up at me, “I was wal- what are you doing here?  Why were you staring at me?”

I cringed, forgetting about that habit of mine.  I used to not be able to talk at all so I only stared at people as they went about their lives and they wouldn’t notice me.  “Sorry, I was deep in thought,” I apologized, slightly embarrassed.  I then focused on getting answers out of the boy in the driver’s seat, “but seriously, this is my demigod!  She becomes important and now you want to help her?” I asked.

I could see that he had anger issues.  “She is not yours!” he yelled, outraged.

“I was assigned to this one so, back off,” I commanded, feeling like a complete female dog.  But, female dogs tended to get whatever they wanted so I just had to suck it up.  Guilt started pouring over my heart, but I pushed through it, knowing that I would regret this.

“Okay, I will not be assigned to anyone.  What is going on?” Apricot asked.  There it is, I knew that I would regret something.  Now she thinks that I think that she is some slave that could be owned.  The truth is, I meant that I had to lead her to where she needed to be.  That boy was not the one that was supposed to lead her.
