I was up in a tree again, writing in my poetry book. I had grown a vine around my ankle so if I fell, I wouldn’t hit my head on the ground if I fell.
“Hey!” someone yelled, startling me out of the tree. I swung, tied by my ankle. I was glad that I was wearing jeans and that my shirt was tucked in. I could see the guy upside down. He had brown hair and sparkling brown eyes. I instantly disliked him. My book fell out of the tree and on his head. He rubbed his hand through his hair and then picked the book off the ground.
I cut myself down from the tree and stared at him, dead center in the eyeball. “If you don’t give me back that book, the next thing that will be cut is your hair,” I snarled.
“Nice to meet you too, my name is Conner. What is your name?” he asked.
“Floret, now give me my book or you will regret it,” I growled. I wasn’t sure if just asking would make him give it to me, but I thought that the only way that I could get it was to scare him into giving it to me.
“You will just have to get it from me,” he smirked. He had no idea of how important that book was to me. He flipped through the book, seeing that I had poems in there. “Apollo child wannabe?” he asked.
“No, give me the book,” I commanded.
“I think that I should ask the Apollo kids what they think of this poetry,” he smirked.
“Give me the book or you will find an imprint of it on your face in the morning,” I threatened.
He started running away, but I was just about as fast as he was. I was able to just keep up by a little. While I was running, I saw Apricot by the border, screaming for help. James was behind her, dragging her away. I stopped running, not believing my eyes. She continued to scream and fight James, but he didn’t show any struggle to keep her arms restrained.
I stood there, frozen. This was my fault; James was here to make me join Gaea’s side. He was supposed to kill me or scare me in my dream, and I guess that it worked. My legs felt like Jell-O and died under me. I hit the ground, hiding my face in my hair so no one could see my tears. James smirked at me as he held a gun to Apricot’s stomach. I heard the gunshot and a yelp escaped my mouth.
I quickly turned away, running to the big house.
