Chapter 15 - Phone Call

Colin's POV

After that call I wasn't sure if I'd be able to focus on my scenes. I did my best and finished all the scenes. I tried to forget about the call, but that didn't work so I decided to ignore it for the moment. I had a few scenes with Sarah today, and a few with Barbara but that was it. I didn't have any scenes with Jen today surprisingly.

After we finished shooting Lana hosted a cast dinner. At the dinner I pulled Josh outside so I could talk to him. I needed to talk to someone about the call, but I couldn't tell Jen...yet.

Once I pulled him outside he just stared at me. "Colin what are you doing? The party's inside." I looked at him and sat down on a chair. He must have realized how serious I was, because he stopped joking and sat down in the chair next to me. "Colin, what's going on? Are you ok?" I sat there in silence for a minute before I started talked.

"Josh, I need help. Big time. I found out something today and I have no idea what to do." He looked at me confused.

"Colin, what happened?" I didn't say anything for a minute then I continued.

"I got a call today while I was getting into my Hook costume. It was Helen." I paused and put my head in my lap. "Josh, she's pregnant with my kid and I'm with another woman." I looked back up and Josh's mouth was wide open.

"What?" Was all he could say.

"Josh I screwed up, bad. She's pregnant and we aren't even together anymore." I put my head back in my lap

"Colin I-" he paused. "I don't even know what to say. I mean you're going to be a father but not with Jen." Then I heard something I didn't want to hear. Another person was outside.

"What's not with Jen?" It was Ginny, she heard what Josh said. I picked up my head and stared at her.

"Ginny how much did you hear?!?" I panicked.

"Just that something's not with Jen. Colin what's going on??" She had now sat down and I knew she wasn't leaving until I told her.

"Ginny I'll tell you but please don't tell Jen." She looked at me shocked that I was hiding something from Jen.

"Fine Colin, but what the hell is going on?"She was now clearly upset.

"Ginny I got a call today while I was getting in my Hook costume from Helen." I paused and she stared at me waiting for me to continue. "Ginny, Helen's pregnant with my kid." She then copied her husband and her jaw dropped as well.

"Wait. WHAT?" Now I'm screwed. There is no way this is going to end well.

"SHH! Ginny please keep your voice down!" I whisper shouted at her.

"Colin you know how Jen is! This is going to devastate her! She's going to shut everyone out again like she did with Jesse and Sebastian! You were supposed to be different!!" She whispered shouted back at me.

"Hey, I didn't do anything wrong! It's not like I cheated on Jen! I just found out about this too!!!" I fully shouted that time and Josh tried to keep us calm.

"Guys everyone's going to come out here soon if you two keep arguing like this!" Ginny didn't care. She was ready to explode.

"No you didn't cheat on Jen all you did was get her hopes up! Every relationship she's had has been with awful men who didn't care about her at all! Now here you are! The one guy I thought would be different and actually care about Jen and you're trying to keep a HUGE, LIFE CHANGING, SECRET!" She was fully screaming now and we didn't hear the doors open.

"GINNY I JUST FOUND OUT TOO! HOW THE HELL AM I JUST SUPPOSED TO BREAK JEN'S HEART AND TELL HER HELEN'S PREGNANT WITH MY KID?!?!?" Then I heard it and froze. Everything went silent. We didn't realize everyone was now outside, watching us. Including the one person I didn't want to hear that.

Jen.

"Wait, Helen's what?!?" I turned around and Jen was staring at me holding back the tears in her eyes.

"Jen. I-" I had no idea what to say after that. Nothing I could say could make this better.

"Never mind Colin. I-I don't care." She ran off fully crying now.

"JEN!" I shouted after her but she didn't turn back once. Then she was gone. I turned back to Ginny now mad as hell. "This is all you're fault! You had to start an argument! You couldn't just leave well enough alone could you!" She just stared at me blankly.

"I'm not the one who got another woman pregnant Colin! Try taking a long hard look in the mirror before you point anymore fingers!" With that she stormed off in the same direction as Jen with Josh quickly following to check on his wife. Then Lana quickly ended things before anything else could happen.

"Alright guys sorry but I think that's the end of the party for tonight. Thank you all for coming." Everyone left but I just sat down with my head in my hands trying not to cry. Nothing could possibly make this day worse.

I slowly got up and headed back to my hotel room. Once I got there I had no idea what to do. I needed to talk to someone who would maybe clear up this mess a little bit. I decided to call my brother, Allen.

He answered the phone immediately. "Hey Colin, what's up? You never call anymore."

"Hey Allen. I need your help with something. I got myself in a messy situation."

"Sure brother, anything what's up?" I filled him in on everything then he was silent. "Wow Colin, that is a pretty messy situation."

"Yeah I know. What should I do? I don't even know where to begin." He was silent for a minute and I anxiously waited for him to answer.

"Start at the beginning." I was confused.

"What that heck is that supposed to mean?"

"Colin when Helen told you she was pregnant I'm sure multiple different thoughts went through your head right?" That was a stupid question.

"Yeah obviously."

"Okay then. Go through all of them and solve them in the order you thought about them in. The first ones you thoughts of were the most important." Now I remembered why I always called my brother when something happened. He always knew what to do.

"Ok. Thanks Allen I know what to do now."

"Glad to help Colin. Talk to you later." "Bye Allen." I hung up and ran to Jen's house.

Jen's POV

After Lana's party I ran to my house as fast as I could. I just wanted to leave and never go back. I never wanted to see him again. As soon as I got home I sat down on my bed and started crying. I tried not to but I couldn't help it. It happened, again! Every time I let someone in they break my heart. I thought Colin would be different but I was wrong. Really, really, wrong. Ava jumped up on my bed and sat in my lap licking my hand. She always made me feel better. When I finally stopped crying I just wanted to talk to someone. Normally I'd call Ginny but she was in on it, so I went to my second choice, Daniel.
