Chapter 18 - Explanations

Jen's POV

As we drove home, I explained what happened.

Night of the party:

I saw Colin and Josh go outside. Shortly after Ginny came up to me. "Hey Jen do you know where Josh is? He just disappeared."

"Yeah, I saw him and Colin walk outside when Colin got here." She smiled.

"Okay thanks. I'm gonna go see what's going on." She walked out the back door and I went to find Lana and catch up. After a few minutes there was a lot of yelling between what sounded like Ginny and Colin, but I couldn't make out what they were saying.

I walked out to see what they were arguing about and everyone else followed. All I heard was Colin yell "GINNY I JUST FOUND OUT TOO! HOW THE HELL AM I JUST SUPPOSED TO BREAK JEN'S HEART AND TELL HER HELEN'S PREGNANT WITH MY KID?!?!?" I looked up at him, and I was trying not to cry. I ran away as fast as I could, never looking back.

Present Day:

When I finished my story, I looked up and Daniels mouth was wide open. "Jen, I'm so sorry. He got another girl pregnant?!? I'm gonna kill him next time I see him!" I was trying not to start crying again, telling that story was like reliving the whole day again.

"You'll have to wait awhile. I left him a note basically breaking up with him and telling him not to follow me." We got to the house and both got out of the car. He came around to my side of the car and hugged me.

"I'm so sorry Jen, you don't deserve this." He whispered in my ear.

"Thanks, and please don't tell anyone else the real reason why I'm here. I just wanna spend some time with my favorite people." I smiled.

"Ok Jen, whatever you want."

We both walked inside, and my parents immediately gave me a hug before I could set my stuff down. "Jen! We missed you so much!!" My mom said as they hugged me. They pulled away and I set my stuff down.

"I missed you guys too!" I then gave my sister a hug. "Missed ya Julia."

"I missed you too Jen!" I went upstairs and put all my stuff away quickly.

I went back downstairs and sat down in the living room with my family. "Do you guys wanna play a game or something?" I asked.

"Sure I'm in" Julia said.

"Me too. What do you wanna play Jen?" Daniel asked.

"Let's play a card game." My dad got up and grabbed a few decks of cards. We all moved to the table and played a few rounds of a game called 3-1-3. Julia beat everyone by 20 or more points. After cards everyone went to bed because it was getting late.

Colin's POV

The plane landed late. It was 11:30 before I got out if the airport. I called a cab and stayed at a hotel 5 minutes from Jen's famiy's house. I was gonna go apologize to her first thing in the morning. I wasn't sure if she'd answered so I wrote a letter just incase. I put the letter on the counter by the bed and went to sleep.

I woke up the next morning to the sun in my eyes. I checked the clock and it was 9:30am. I got up and got dressed and ready to go. I grabbed the letter and drove to Jen's house. I knew she didn't sleep in much and it was already 10:00am. I walked up to the door and stood there for a few minutes before I had enough courage to knock. I knocked 3 times and waited for an answer.

When the door opened I expected to see Jen, but I saw a man instead. "Uh. Hi my name's Colin O-" He cut me off.

"I know exactly who you are, and you shouldn't be here right now." This must be Daniel, Jen's brother.

"Can you please at least give this to her?" He looked at me like I said something crazy.

"Yeah, I don't think so. She doesn't need anything from you right now." Wow, I really hoped he wasn't like this all the time.

"Please. It's an apology. I'm really sorry about what happened." I held out the letter again.

"Fine, whatever just leave before she sees you." He grabbed the letter and walked inside and slammed the door. I went back to my hotel.

Jen's POV

I was laying in bed when I heard the door slam downstairs. I walked downstairs and saw my brother holding an envelope. "Hey Dan. I heard the door slam, what's that?" I pointed to the envelope and he quickly set it down on the table.

"Nothing. I just went out to get the mail, sorry if I woke you with the door." I could tell something was wrong, but I didn't want to push it.

"It's fine. Do you know if mom made any plans for today?"

"No. She didn't make any plans at all for the time you're here. Your visit was a happy surprise."

"Oh, ok." I went back upstairs.

Daniel's POV

"Oh, ok." She walked back upstairs. I grabbed the letter and walked into my bedroom. I was about to destroy it but I wanted to see what it said first.

Dear Jennifer,

I'm not even sure if you're going to read this and I wouldn't blame you if you didn't. I'm so sorry about what happened but before I get into that I want you to know one thing. Ginny had nothing to do with this. She found out the same way you did and was trying to make me tell you. The same with Josh. I'll understand if you hate me forever and never talk to me again, but don't shut them out. I know how close you guys are, and Ginny was in tears about this.

Now onto us. I'm so sorry you found out about Helen like that, and I want you to know this; I love you and I always will. I didn't cheat on you, the timing was just horrible. I got your letter. I know you don't want to talk to me and you told me not to follow you but I didn't listen. I'm here in LA and I'm so sorry about everything. You're the one I want Jen, not Helen. This child changes nothing. I know things will be complicated to say the least but please give me another chance. I love you and I'm truly sorry about everything.

I was about to throw the letter away but I just couldn't. But I couldn't let Jen have it either. I decided to put it in my nightstand and headed back downstairs.

A/N: Sorry about the shorter chapter. Colin tried to apologize but couldn't. Daniel lied and hid the letter. What will happen if/when Jen sees Colin's letter or Colin himself. Please comment and continue reading. I'll try to update as much as possible but I'm having major writers block at the moment.
