Snow.

It's Harry's absolute favourite thing about Christmas. He just loves playing with it and lying down on the cold, icy ground, making snow angels. He also likes making snowmen.

And that's what he's doing right now, in his backyard.

"Hey Lou?" Harry calls.

With Louis, as usual.

"Yeah?" Louis replies while slapping on a ball of snow on a pile to build a fort.

"Can you pass me the carrot? I'm trying to make this snowman look good." Harry pokes two holes on to the face to make eyes. He pouts and tilts his head to the side. He thinks holes for eyes isn't doing the job.

"And could you look for buttons too? I'm sure mummy has some in her knitting drawer somewhere in the living room."

"Geez, aren't you a bossy one." Louis chuckles, standing up to enter Harry's home.

"I'm sorry! I just want this snowman to look good." Louis hears Harry yell from outside. He smiles out of fond but then stops immediately because..what the heck. His eyes widen as he realised what he did.

He shrugs it off and just looks for the buttons. His eyes catches a look on a drawer with a thread hanging off from it, opening it, assuming it's the knitting drawer and it is. He grabs a couple of buttons, huge ones, to hand over to Harry.

He runs outside, "got them." He waves it at Harry as he hands it to him. Harry smiles, "Thanks Lou."

"I was too lazy to grab a carrot so" Louis looks around and spots a twig, "maybe this'll do." He grabs the twig and sticks it on to the snowman's head.

Harry looks at it, quite impressed. "Hmm, maybe! Kinda looks great already."

"But it still needs work. I'll go ahead and do more stuff to it."

Louis continues to fix the fort, he needs to make two since they're planning on having a snowball fight later. Harry insisted to invite Niall and Liam but

Louis said it'll be better if it was just the two of them. Harry was quite sad because of that but he just accepted his decision.

"Hey, Lou." Harry calls while smoothening the surface of the snowman with his small hands. "W-when is your birthday? L-like I don't really know when is it since I tell you stuff about me and you don't."

"I-it's on the 24th...actually Christmas Eve." Louis casually answers while stacking up the snow.

Harry stiffens. It's actually coming up already. He needs to start with his birthday present or else he wouldn't be able to finish it.

"O-oh okay."

"Why?" Louis questions, not really intending to intimidate the younger boy but he did anyway.

"I-I was just asking—that's all. Nothing. Nothing—I wasn't gonna do a-anything or something—no." Harry stutters and puts his hand on his face to prevent Louis from seeing him. He's so bad at lying and when he is you could already know once you look at his face. He's got this weird face when he lies.

Louis squints in suspicion but then he got too tired to bother and he just continued on with the fort building.

"Mummy! C-could you help me?" Harry walks up to his mum on the couch, reading a newspaper.

Anne immediately set her newspaper aside as she notices the little human in front of her. "What is it, boo?"

"Can you help me bake the cookies? And the letter? Remember that friend I have who is having the birthday?" Harry twirls a hair strand while speaking.

"Oh sure, hun. When is his birthday? Gotta make sure so we'll know when to start." She smiles, petting her son while doing so.

"H-he told me his birthday is on Christmas Eve." Harry says.

"Oh! Exactly on Christmas Eve?"

"Mhm!"

"Well how about we start baking them now? Maybe we could bake him more pastries if you want?" Harry lights up, "absolutely mummy! I would love that."

"Alrighty! Let's start then." She stands up and grabs her son's hand, leading him to the kitchen, not before kissing his forehead and tickling him.

-

"How about you invite your friend over so we could celebrate Christmas together? Niall and his parents will be going too. I've never seen him actually, maybe you could introduce him to me on that day, hm?" Anne suggests as she adds in the eggs to the bowl. Harry sits on the counter, peeking over to his mum adding in the ingredients.

"I-I'll ask him! I'm sure he would. He's just beside our home, mum-mum." Harry smiles. Oh boy this would be so exciting. Harry hopes Louis will say yes.

It's gonna be a very fun Christmas day.
