First person POV

All I last remembered was being blindfolded and harshly thrown into the trunk of a car. My phone was taken away from me and my hands and legs were tied up.

To say the least... I'm in a problem right now. You can't blame me for not knowing what to do, right? It's not like I've ever been kidnapped before!

All I was able to do was stay frozen and silent in that position as the car drove to who knows where. When the person took me out, I didn't try to fight— it's not like I could have anyways and I was tied against a chair.

And for all I know, it's been days now since that happened and my blindfold has come off, though it doesn't make much of a difference as the room I'm placed in is usually pitch black. I've been fed, not well, but it's been something and I haven't spoken once since my capture.

The door opens up and a ray of light shines through, illuminating the room and the person is carrying a piece of bread and a cup of water, as usual. I try to observe them, realizing that the person is actually a women but she has all black clothes on, with a mask on her face.

I finally gather the courage and I ask, "what do you want with me?"

The women turns her head to me and snaps back instantly, leaving the room and shutting out my only source of light.

What could she want with me?

I throw the stale bread at the wall and I hurl the cup also, wishing that it was glass so it would shatter. I shut my eyes, leaning my back slightly against the chair, making sure that it doesn't fall over and I attempt to sleep.

I hadn't gotten any sleep since before my kidnapping and I hadn't felt the effects of it until now. As I'm finally feeling sleepy, the door opens again.

"Amber!"

I run my eyes to make sure that it's who I think it is and I feel a wave of shock rush over me as I realize it's him.

"Shawn!"

He comes over to me, untying me and he gives me a tight hug, placing a kiss on my cheek.

"Shawn, I don't want to be ungrateful or anything but... IT'S ABOUT TIME!" I yell at my now surprised boyfriend, rolling my eyes at him and I stand up.

"I didn't know where to look!"

"Let's just get out of here!"

We run out of the place and I follow Shawn's lead as I'm not sure where to go.

"Leaving so soon?" A female voice asks.

"Lauren," Shawn says.

"It's nice to see you, babe. After you broke up with me, you thought you would never have to see me again, right? Wrong."

"Why did you take Amber?"

"I decided that if I didn't get to have you then no one can. It took me some time to get my plan set but after three years, it was finally taken into action."

"Well, your plan failed because we're both leaving!"

Lauren rips her mask off and reveals her face to me. She's angry and she takes charge at Shawn, punching him in the face before I shove her away from him.

"So protective," she snarls.

She goes over to him again, landing a hit on his jaw and he stumbles back, blood coming out of his mouth.

"Shawn! Fight her!"

"But she's—"

"DO IT!"

He hesitantly regains his stance and shoves her against the wall. She falls to the floor and I kick her aside, making way for Shawn and I. He leads me to the exit and we climb up a ladder. Shawn opens the latch and we climb out.

"I need to call the police," he says and he excuses himself, going by a tree to call.

I feel lucky that I'm finally out of there and I sit down on the grass, feeling the sun shine down on me.

I missed the sun.

Something as simple as the sun is always taken for granted and I know that I'll never be like that again.

The police cars appear around Shawn and I at once. The officers rush into the place I had been held as one comes over to me, asking me if I'm okay.

"I will be," I tell the man.

Shawn comes over to me and says, "it was so hard without you. I did everything I could to find you and I'm sorry that it wasn't very quick."

"Shawn, you tried your best and you still got me out so— I don't care. I'm just glad I'm out of there."

He lays a kiss on my lips and then, the officers come back, carrying an unconscious Lauren in their arms.

"This isn't her first time kidnapping," a policeman tells me.

"Can we take you to the station for some questions?" Another police officer asks me.

"I'd prefer not to right now," I respond.

"Understood. Just make sure you come over to the station soon for a statement."

I nod my head and the man leaves, driving away in a police car. Shawn and I watch in silence as they all leave.

"I'm glad you're okay," he says.

"I'm glad too."

Shawn brings his lips to mine and we connect, doing what I hadn't done in almost a week.

I had taken kissing for granted.

Never again.

The End

So, I hope you liked it @breeandamber! I'm not an expert on kidnapping stories so this was the best I could do! 😂
