Chapter Sixteen

Lucas blinked his eyes open. He takes a note of his surroundings and he realizes he's in the torture room.

He tries to break out of his restraints but they are too strong and he was weak since he was shot with another dosage of vervain and hadn't had blood in a few hours.

The door creaks open and Shawn walks inside. He comes in with a tray full of medical equipment. Lucas tries to break out of the restraints but there was no use.

"I love seeing you struggle it makes me smile." Shawn said in a evil tone. He takes out a scalpel and makes an incision down Lucas's torso.

Lucas screams in agony as he pulls the skin apart revealing his intestines. He reaches down and grabs the end of the intestines and pulls it out.

Lucas feels his vision go black as he passes out. Shawn cuts out a chunk of his intestines and puts the rest back in his stomach. He takes the chunk and puts it in a jar.

Lucas's torso slowly closes up around the incision. His intestines will take a day to heal. He calls his workers to put him back in the cage.

Maya decided to stay home from school too miserable to go. Her best friend Riley calls her. She takes the call.

"Peaches are you okay. Why aren't you at school?" Riley asked concerned. "Lucas broke up with me." Maya declared. "What?!" Riley exclaimed.

"He broke up with me over text and said he didn't love me anymore." Maya rehashed. "I can't believe that coward broke up with you over text. I knew I had a bad feeling about him. Do you want me to come over after school?"

"No it's fine Riles. I just wanna be alone right now." Maya stated. "Okay let me know if you change your mind. Love you."

"Love you too Riles." She said. She placed her phone down on the bedside table and falls asleep.

She wakes up to someone knocking on her window. Her heart races thinking it's Lucas but it's just Vanessa and Cole.

They don't look any better than she does right now. "Come inside." Maya ordered.

Vanessa and Cole come in and pull her in for a hug. "I'm sorry Maya. We never would have thought our baby brother would leave like this."

"It's not your fault that Lucas left town. It's because he didn't want to be with me anymore."

"Lucas is a fool. Anyone would be lucky to have you." Cole said. "Thanks Cole." She smiled weakly.

Vanessa and Cole stayed for a few hours before leaving.

Maya took a shower and changed into her pajamas. Her father knocked on the door.

"Dinner is ready sweetheart." Shawn informed. "I'm coming." Maya said. She looked at the picture on her phone.

It was of Lucas and her cuddling together on her bed. Lucas was kissing her neck and Maya was laughing.

She wiped a tear and walked downstairs.

"Sweetheart are you okay?" Katy asked noticing how Maya's face had a frown and her eyes were red.

"I'm f-fine." Maya said but it wasn't very convincing.

"Maya I know when your lying please tell me and your father." Katy begged. "Lucas broke up with me today." Maya said on the verge of crying again.

"Come here babygirl." Katy held her arms out. She pulled Maya in a hug. Shawn also got in the hug. "It's okay." Shawn tried to console her.

"It's not okay Dad. I love him." Maya muttered. Shawn felt a pang of guilt but he knows she will move on from him eventually.

After a few moments, she finally calmed down. When she was done with her dinner, Maya went upstairs since she was worn out from the crying.

"I can't believe he would do that. I thought they were great for each other." Katy commented.

"I know. I wanna punch that guy in the face for doing that to her." Shawn said playing the angry father act.

"He made our daughter so happy." Katy sighed. Katy yawned and kissed her husband's cheek.

"Goodnight honey." Katy fell asleep. "Goodnight." He turned the lamp off.
