Chapter twenty eight

After they got off the Ferris wheel, they wanted to eat. They got funnel cake and shaven iced lemonades and settled down at a table.

After they finished their meals, they went to play some carnival games. They had to knock down the bottles with the ball. They had three tries.

"Which one you want baby?" Lucas asked as they waited in line. "I want the big Mickey Mouse." She pointed out in excitement.

Lucas smiled at his cute girlfriend. "Okay I'll get you that sweetheart." He was up next.

He threw the ball knocking the bottles down with ease. He pointed at the Mickey Mouse plush toy. The guy gave it to him. Maya cheered in happiness.

She kissed him on the cheek holding his hand as they walked to the next game. After a few more games, they went in the ticket booth.

The first picture they made silly faces. The second one they smiled at each other. The third one they kissed happily.

Maya laughed showing him the pictures. They placed the pictures safely in their small backpacks.

After two helpings of cotton candy and a couple of more rides everyone was ready to go home.

Cole ended up getting a red dinosaur and a cowboy hat. Vanessa got a fairy wand with a pink elephant. James got a light up sword with a superhero cape.

Lucas got a cowboy hat and Maya got a crown with a tutu along with her stuffed Mickey toy. They took a group picture with Vanessa phone. She sent them the pictures afterwards.

They laughed as they all looked pretty ridiculous. Maya wanted to sleep so she rested her head on Lucas's lap placing her legs on cole's.

He stroked her hair as she slept. When they got home he gently shook her awake. "We're home princess."

Maya yawned sitting up on his lap. She climbed off of him. Lucas carried their stuff. Cole opened the door. They all said goodnight to each other veering off to their rooms.

They took quick showers before going to bed. Lucas decided to put a movie on in the living room.

It was a romantic comedy that Maya wanted to see. Vanessa joined them sitting on the other side. Cole played video games in his room while James was out to get more groceries.

Lucas couldn't care less about the movie but he watched it because she wanted to.

After the movie was over, Lucas wanted to watch a horror movie. Cole came downstairs to watch it with them. James also came back from shopping. He sat down on the other recliner chair.

Vanessa opted out since she was tired. "Scaredy cat!" Cole teased. Vanessa raised the middle finger playfully before going upstairs.

After a little while James fell asleep. He rarely stayed up for movies. Cole was watching unaffected. Maya kept on jumping at the jump scares. She hid in his chest at the bloody scenes.

Lucas rubbed her back in comfort. When the movie was over Cole bid them a goodnight walking upstairs.

"That was so scary. I'm never gonna be able to sleep." She said putting on her pajamas. "I won't show you another scary movie. Sorry." He grimaced.

"It's okay just hold me." She raised her arms up. Lucas slid into them wrapping his arms around her.

She pecked him on the lips. "Even though you made me watch that I still love you."

"I love you too." He pulled the blanket over them.
