"Why don't you love me?" Charlie yelled. He threw the bottle of bourbon to the floor. He sped up to Lucas and gripped his shirt tightly.
"I can make you." Charlie smirked. "Please don't do this." Lucas pleaded. "Kiss me." Charlie told him. Lucas pressed his lips against his. Charlie returned the kiss pushing him up against the wall.
Charlie turned his head deepening the kiss. Lucas closed his eyes trying to picture Maya that he was kissing. Charlie pulled away giving him a smirk before walking upstairs. Lucas went to the bathroom to wash his mouth. He came out and laid down on the bed. He really wish that all of this could be over.
The next few days, Charlie has resorted to violence. He would drink multiple glasses of bourbon. He would then take out all his frustrations on Lucas.
He would scream at himself upstairs knocking things over. Lucas couldn't help but feel bad for what Charlie has become.
Lucas was starting to think he was going crazy too. The more he was beat up the more he felt bad for him and wanted to make Charlie feel okay.
Lucas started to blame himself thinking that it was his fault that he deserved to get beaten over and over.
Lucas's nightmares started to get worse and he could barely sleep anymore. He was truly at his breaking point and he wanted to turn it off but a small part of him is trying to hold on to what little sanity he had left.
The siblings and Maya spent the next few days trying to find something in Charlie's journals. "They're in New Orleans." Vanessa exclaimed.
"Really?" Maya stood up in excitement. "Look at what it says here." Vanessa pointed to the page.
July 28 1925
Lucas and I were spending the next three weeks here in New Orleans. He never stepped one foot out of Blackwood and I wanted to show him one of my favorite places in the world."He would go to New Orleans to spark memories." James pointed out. "Let's pack." Cole announced.
They all went upstairs to pack their stuff. It would take roughly fourteen hours to get there.
After a few bathroom stops, they made it to New Orleans. The city was loud and lively unlike Virginia which was quiet and boring.
"We need to find a witch. I heard there's a bunch around here." James said.
The four of them went to every small nook and cranny shop. They tried to find anyone that was a witch or any sign that they were one.
They sat down at a newly built bar named Babineaux's to take a break. "You guys look worn out." The bartender said. She was about six feet tall. She had dark skin with kind brown eyes. She had black curly hair that was placed in a bun. A nametag named Morgan was pinned on her shirt.
"Yeah we're looking for somebody." Cole said. "He must be very important to you guys." The lady said pouring them each a drink.
"He is. He's the love of my life." Maya spoke brokenly. "What's his name?" Morgan asked.
"His name is Lucas Friar." She showed her the pictures of them at the carnival. Morgan looked at the guy with recognition.
"Hold on I think I seen him before." Morgan said walking to the kitchen. The siblings and Maya all shared looks.
Morgan came back with an old photo. "He was friends with my great grandpa Zay babineaux." She showed them a picture.
They all looked at the photo. It was a picture of Zay and Lucas smiling. They had their arms around each other's shoulders holding beers with the other. The back of it was the year 1925 was scrawled in pen.
"I would be glad to help you guys." Morgan said. "How?" James asked. "I'm a witch." She answered.
"Wait then why did you let us walk in your bar. I thought witches despise us." Vanessa said. "Well you guys didn't kill my patrons and I can sense good ones from bad ones." She smiled.
"Lucy do you mind taking over my shift for the rest of the day. I'll pay you extra." Morgan said. "You got it boss." Lucy stated.
"I don't have material here but I have some of my house." Morgan said. They climbed in Morgan's car and she took them to her house.
She walked inside. She didn't hear any footsteps following her. She turned around. The four of them were standing outside awkwardly.
"I forgot about the inviting thing. come inside." She invited them in. The four of them walked in to the nice home.
She got out all of her materials and placed them on the dining table. She lit up candles and placed a map in the center. "What are you doing?" Maya asked in curiosity.
"I'm doing a locator spell to track him." She answered.
"Since the three of you guys are related to him. I need one of you to cut your palm with this knife." She said.
Vanessa got the knife and sliced her palm open. The blood seeped onto the map. Her hand healed in seconds and she placed the knife down on the table.
Morgan started to chant a spell in Latin. The four of them watched as the blood started to move across the map.
It landed in a city called Covington. "That's where Lucas is." Morgan declared. "Thank you so much for helping us. We will forever be grateful." Maya gave her a hug.
Morgan laughed hugging her back. "I'm coming with you guys. I haven't had adventure in a while." Morgan said.
"Okay then let's go." James said. They hopped in Morgan's car again. She pulled out of the driveway and onto the road.
