Chapter Twenty-Six

"Achooo!"

"Miwa! What are you doing out of bed!"

"I was bo - Achoo - red" Miwa whines, as she blows her nose with a tissue. Neji stands beside me, nexts to the tree, scowling.

"That's not an excuse, now waltz yourself back into bed!" Neji yells as he points to back at the compound.

"Why can't you just let me go home?" Miwa whines again as she stands up and tries to waddle back to one of the spare rooms.

"...." Frowning she turns back around when Neji doesn't reply, she looks at him. Neji was bright red.

"Neji-chan?"

"I want to look after you" Neji whispers quietly as he looks down, getting redder as Miwa continued to stare. She huffed and stopped then turns around to face Neji.

"Carry me, please?" Miwa asks with her arms raised in the air, Neji looks at her for a moments before nodding. Smirking Miwa jumps on Neji's back, wrapping her legs around his waist.

"Say Neji?" Miwa whispers quietly into Neji's shoulder as they reached the room where Miwa was being looked after in.

"Hm?"

"Did I ever tell you about my first friend, Thana?" Miwa asks making Neji narrow his eyes at her sad tone.

'Thana?... Who is she?'

"Well I met Thana 3 months after Daichi saved me" Miwa mumbles quietly as Neji places her down onto the bed, and tucks her in before sitting down bedside her  "We clicked right away, and became the best of friends..." She says laughing slightly.

"We did everything together, she even stayed with me in my shed. We were inseparable, nothing could break our bond, Or so I thought" Miwa says frowning as her memory of that horrid day came into her mind. Neji stayed silent and listened. "Here take my hand" Miwa says to Neji, He looks back at her and takes her hand.

Then in the blink of an eye the two where at the village Miwa lived at, Neji let go of Miwa's hand and looked at his surroundings. When he looked back at Miwa she held her hand up stopping him then she pointed in from of her, Neji looked and his eyes widened when he saw Miwa, when she was around 8 years old.

"I remember this day as if it were yesterday" Miwa tells him, as she walks beside Neji looking at her younger self with a small smile " I was walking back from Daichi's home, it was around 8 at night. I was walking past the bar" Miwa says following after the illusion of her self until they reached the bar with Neji right behind her.

Neji watches as the young Miwa stops to say goodnight to the owner of the bar before continuing her walk. Eager to know more Neji follows both Miwa's down the street and around the corner until they come to a stop a few meters from an alleyway, his Miwa had stopped him as the younger one continued to move.

"I remember when I was walking along here, when I heard some noises" Miwa whispers to him, and on queue there was a loud harsh whisper coming from the alleyway, the younger Miwa had just stopped at after hearing the whisper.

Grabbing Neji's hand Miwa begins to walk closer to herself by the alleyway. Once they were standing behind Miwa's illusion, Neji saw the younger Miwa peered down the alleyway. He looked up and saw two figures, one tall whilst the other really small, around the height of Miwa's younger self.

'So did you get the information?' A deep voice asks as the taller person peers down at the smaller one.

'Yeah sir, the Raikage was right' The smaller person replied casually, their tone was light and feminine.
