Miwa (under slow editing and slight reconstruction)

Chapter Forty-Nine

Days went past and Miwa would only receive a hospital visit from Hinata or her father, Neji stopped visiting after his melt down. He barely leaves Miwa's old room, since his contact with her is away with the fairies the only thing he had let was her pillows and duvet cover that smelled like her.

He could hear Hiashi and Hinata preparing themselves to set off and get Miwa discharged but he couldn't go. He was worried he wouldn't be able to control himself around her anymore, it was too much. Not too mention he probably looked like a wreck or maybe even worse.

Miwa was supposed to be leaving the hospital today, Hinata and Hiashi went off earlier to greet her and help her get to her apartment. The Hyuga Clan, Shikaku and Shikamaru Nara and Inoichi Yamanaka were the only ones that knew of Miwa's return apart from the rescue team and the Hokage.

So there was going to no welcome home party for the girl with amnesia.

That idea alone was enough of a sad thought, but the idea that it is someone who has forgotten people so important to them is lot more harder to think of. To the people outside the Hyuga compound it seemed like they were all in mourning but thanks to the Hokage the didn't know why nor were the Hyuga allowed to tell them why.

Neji looked at the small clock sitting on Miwa's old desk from his position on the bed, it was nearly 2 pm, Miwa would have been discharged an hour ago and would be settling in at her apartment, but thankfully she wouldn't be alone since Hinata and Hiashi would most likely spend the rest of the afternoon there to keep her company.

He had hoped she'd find her apartment to her liking as it has been a long time since anyone had lived there, so he repainted her baby blue walls and dusted the whole space. He didn't trust anyone else to clean her flat, remembers Naruto giving him funny look when the blonde saw Neji walking in and out of Miwa's apartment.

Since no one knew about Miwa's return he hoped Naruto wouldn't cause up a large scene once he saw her as he most likely will as well as Sakura, who hasn't let Naruto's sights since he returned to the village.

Neji closed his eyes as he fought away his thoughts and curled up even more, cuddling Miwa's pillow close as he tried to fall asleep, alone in the darkness of Miwa's empty room.

Meanwhile across the village.

Miwa was strolling down the streets with her bag over her shoulder that Nana had packed with Hiashi and Hinata Hyuga walking either beside or in front of her. She was confused as she tried to ignore to the stares that the villagers gave her, when she asked Hinata she was told that she shouldn't worry about it and ignore them.

As they made their way to the flat Miwa had no idea she had, thanks to her amnesia, the group of three were called out by two boys and a large dog. Only when the group turned around the two boys and the dog froze when they saw Miwa's bruised face.

"Miwa?" Kiba scampered out, Miwa turned to fully look at him with an extremely confused look.

"Sorry do I know you?" Miwa asked politely, Kiba looked over at Hinata horrified, Hinata quietly grasps Miwa's wrist and pulls her away as she turned her to give Kiba and Shino and side glance.

"We'll talk later" Hinata muttered loudly as she and Hiashi pull Miwa in the direction of her flat, Miwa goes with them willingly, she glances back at the boy with so much confusion but when she turns away her face saddens. It seems like she was hurting a lot more people with her memory loss, Miwa sighed.

It took them another 10 minutes before they found themselves walking up the stairs to Miwa's old flat, where they unfortunately bumped into Naruto, who stood shellshock when he noticed who Hinata was.

"Hey Hinata! Who you got there - " Miwa looked over at the shell shocked boy and noticed which door he came out of and realised her door was and she smiled and offered her hand to the boy.

"Hi there I'm Miwa your new neighbour" Miwa says as enthusiastically as she could, but she failed miserably, Naruto looked at Miwa with wide eyes then looked at Hinata and Hiashi who give him a pleading look. Understanding for the first time in forever, Naruto coughs slightly and gives Miwa a large smile and shakes her hand.

"Hi Miwa! I'm Naruto and I'll be your neighbour!" Naruto internally cringed at his words and at the visible bandage on her shoulder, that was were he had been told he had hurt her.

Miwa relaxes a lot, she felt relieved that she wasn't hurting someone because of the memory loss. It felt refreshing to see someone not look at her so longingly, for the first time since she had returned she felt her lip turn up as she smiled for the first time.

"I should go and get settled in then" Miwa tells him as Hinata takes her to the door, Hinata sending Naruto a thank you as she passed with Hiashi following who tapped Naruto's shoulder in thanks. Naruto continued to watch them as they disappearing through Miwa's door, once it closed he felt his smile fall off he had only just realise that there was someone missing.

Neji wasn't with Miwa.

The guilt began to eat away at Naruto, he felt like it was his fault that Miwa was taken. He had let his anger get the better of him, so Miwa ended up having to protect them all and now it looks like she doesn't remember anyone. Naruto looked over at Miwa's door before he decided that he should go and let Kakashi know of Miwa's return and the state she was currently in.

Miwa walked into her apartment and took a good look around, everything was simple, which made Miwa feel funny about. She felt as if she had been there before only it didn't look like this, that's when she caught a glimpse of a similar room in her head only it was bright and full of photos and decorations as well as little trinkets.

Miwa frowned and shook her head, it was only her imagination, she hoped. She threw he bag onto the bed and turn to look at the two Hyuga who were putting Hinata's homemade food into Miwa's fridge. Miwa felt herself drift off as she stared at the, she felt so warm when she was around them but she felt so lonely when Neji wasn't there, it really confused her.

Hinata and Hiashi stayed with Miwa a little while longer talking about nothing in particular before the sun had begun to set and Hiashi announced that they had to leave, Miwa felt a little sad to be left alone but she nodded and followed them to her door. They each said their goodbyes and Miwa unconsciously felt herself pulling Hinata in for a hug, she hadn't realised how long she held Hinata but she didn't want to let go, something inside her was yelling at her.

Despite how she felt Miwa pulled away and wished them a goodnight and a safe walk home before she shut the door and lent up against it breathing heavily. Miwa took a few minutes to calm herself before she went over to her bed and sprawled on top of it, using her bag as a pillow. Once she threw her head on the pillow she immediately pulls herself back up as she rubs her head.

Frowning she pulls the bag onto her lap and opens it to look at the contents, it was mostly just her clothes and medical papers but she noticed something that stuck out like a sore thumb. It was the photo album from the Hospital, the one Miwa had a breakdown over.

She looked at it for a while before she stood up and placed it inside one of the draws in her desk, keeping it safe for when she felt like she could look at it.

You better wake the fuck up, MY NEJI-CHAN NEEDS MEH!

Miwa flinched as a voice screamed loudly in her head, she rubbed her head once again before she decided to get into her pajamas and climb into bed. The female voice in her head continued to hound her until she fell asleep.
