(a/n: before i begin, i hope you read the description because this book contains things like self harm, depression, anxiety, and bullying. i am in no way trying to romanticize depression or making it seem like romance is the cure for it because that's far from realistic. i did my absolute best to reread everything and make sure i portrayed the disorder as realistic as possible because i'm not an ignorant dickhead. please tell me if there's something i should fix! xoxo)

Virgil showed up to school with black ripped skinny jeans, a dark purple crop top, and a black leather jacket.

Virgil, Remy, and Roman were the most popular students in Lucky Hansen High School.

Virgil Greyson was the queen bee. His younger brother, Patton Greyson, was in ninth grade (freshman year) and was the most popular in his entire grade. The difference was that Virgil was popular for being a hot bad boy and Patton was popular for being the sweetest person alive.

Remy Jordyn was the sassiest human being you could ever meet. He was always carrying a cup of coffee.

Roman Ferrante was an actor who could sing like an angel. He starred in every school play and musical for the past five years.

Anyway, everybody turned their heads to stare at Virgil.

He bit his bottom lip flirtatiously when he noticed a couple of guys checking him out.

Everybody had a crush on him. He could make any guy gay and any lesbian straight.

Logan Decker, however, was not as big of a fan of Virgil as everyone else. Honestly, he found his rebellious nature quite annoying.

Logan had more important things to worry about: his grades, making it to classes on time, and handling his depression.

Every single day was a struggle and he could barely get out of bed anymore. He just felt terribly lonely. It was stupid, though. "Get out of my head!" he'd yell at nothing. He knew what he was missing, and that was... friends... because he had absolutely none.

But he didn't need them, right?

Friends would only slow him down, become too emotional, and keep him from getting any work done... Right?

Whatever.

He was constantly embarrassed that he had nobody to sit with. Ever. But that embarrassment was just his stupid emotions trying to get the best of him, and he wouldn't let that happen.

Still, it hurt. He couldn't keep away the fact that it hurt. Whenever he thought he was getting better, he wasn't. He just tried to believe it.

Thought I found a way,

Thought I found a way out,

But you never go away,

So I guess I gotta stay now.
