(a/n: im on my period and literally everything hurts and it's 1:56 am and i was sobbing because of the pain so how was your day)

Walkin' out of town,

Lookin' for a better place,

Something's on my mind,

Always in my headspace...

The next morning, Virgil woke up earlier than Logan, which was a pretty rare occurrence.

Virgil shook him lightly. "Lo. Wake the fuck up."

Logan didn't wake up, so Virgil shook him more aggressively and yelled, "I WILL BUY YOU CROFTERS IF YOU WAKE UP!"

At that, Logan did wake up, but he didn't get out of bed. He just laid there.

"Babe, are you okay?" Virgil kissed his head. "You're not like this."

"I can't go to school today."

"Why not? I posted about the fake conversation so almost everyone's forgiven you. They won't hurt you, okay?"

"No... It's not that..."

"What's wrong?"

"I just... can't move."

"Lemme carry you," Virgil offered.

Logan shook his head. "Don't bother. I... Well, do you know those days when- fuck, um, you feel horrible? You think about the past and what you could've done or shouldn't have done and everything falls on you once again even though the event happened years ago. But you could've done something, but you didn't, and it hurts!"

"Oh, baby... I'm here for you and I care about you so, so much. You're my world. You can't blame yourself for what happened to him, because you are amazing. One person can't completely control someone else's mental health unless that person is completely toxic. Please, please, please, Lo. I'm sure he cared about you just as much as you do about him, but there was nothing you could've done. Some things just happen.

"It feels awful probably. I never experienced something like that, but I can assure you, you have done nothing wrong."

He was on the verge of tears, but he kept his cool. "I-I want him back."

"Hey... Okay, well, I'm probably the dumbest person alive, but maybe we can get you help since I can't do much. I sound so insensitive saying this, don't I? Shit, I'm sorry, I just don't have any experience dealing with this stuff and I don't want to give you advice that isn't helpf-"

"I completely understand. You are right."

"I'll stay by your side the entire day today."

"How? I encouraged you to stop skipping classes as frequently, but we still don't have all of them together."

"I mentioned before I'm magic. I just need to send an email and find a surgeon mask."

"Where in the world are you going to get a surgeon mask fr-"

Virgil had reached at the top of his closet and tossed a mask to Logan.

"Why do you even have this?!"

"I used to use the same excuse to be in classes with Remy. Califragisupexpidolisticotosis, a very contagious and rare sickness. Not bad enough to make someone miss school, but a protective mask is necessary. They believed it. Dumb fucks."

"...wow. I would say no, but... I think I'll try this once."

"Cool. Gotta send an email to the school and we'll be good. Check for my spelling mistakes after. For now, get ready. I smell waffles."

Logan still struggled to get out of bed, but with Virgil literally cheering him on, he did it.

"YEAH, LOGAN! WOOOOOOOOO! LET EVERYONE SEE YOU OUT OF BED! YOU'RE DOING AMAZING, SWEETIE!"

Logan didn't understand, but he got changed while Virgil quickly typed out an email.

"Lo, can you check the spelling? I need to do my makeup. I have to be faster today, so I guess I'm going slightly more natural?" Virgil thought for a moment. "Hah. No. My go-to black and silver theme it is."

Logan nodded and skimmed over the email before fixing a punctuation error, but that was it. Virgil told him to send it and he did.

He was still doing his makeup, so he called Patton over.

"Yeah, Virge?" Patton asked, already completely ready.

"Can you pick me an outfit? And please make it good - I'm giving you this privilege."

"Yeah, of course!" Patton began to look through Virgil's closet.

"And Lo," Virgil added, "go eat breakfast. You don't need to wait for me."

Logan nodded and left the bedroom where the brothers were working on Virgil's look.

Virgil had finished earlier than he had expected and Patton had chosen for him a black and white bomber jacket over a white Metallica t-shirt, black short shorts over fishnet leggings, black and white striped socks, and Adidas sneakers.

He grabbed his blush which he rarely wore, and applied it to Logan's face vigorously.

"What are you doing?" Logan asked.

"The biggest mistake I've made was not having flushed cheeks when faking my califragisupexpidolisticotosis. It's a big thing."

"Oh. Alright then."

"Take this."

He gave Logan the mask, which Logan hesitantly put on.

"Perfect! You look sick!" Patton laughed.

Logan blinked several times. "Was that a pun?"

Patton did awkward finger guns before responding with, "Yeaaaaaaaaaah."

Virgil looked down at his phone. "Okay, get your backpacks, we have five minutes before the bus gets here and we wouldn't want to keep Elliott waiting for his boyfriend Patton."

"HEY!"
