When we stopped the car in front of the address in the card, it was little past ten. It was a small yet sophisticated looking clinic, situated well away from the busy hubbub of the town. Ming guided me carefully to the door. I limped holding onto his shoulder.

We approached the door with the sign 'closed' placed upon the translucent door and wondered whether the doctor had gone home after all. But a figure approached hurriedly from the other side and opened the door for us.

“Sorry I thought you guys aren’t coming.” He walked ahead and looked back. “Do you need a wheelchair?” He looked at me with concern. I shook my head.

“No doctor, I can manage.” I tried to smile.

“Come in.” He opened the examination room. “Please sit.” He sat on the doctor's chair and pointed the other chair in front him. I sat nervously. Doctors make me nervous, I don’t why even though this doctor seems pretty nice. Besides he’s P’Forth’s friend.

“Forth said his friend is coming, but I didn’t know I would be treating a celebrity.” He smiled showing dimples on the either sides of his face. “Don’t be afraid, your secret is safe with me.” He laughed. He’s a short cute guy, there’s nothing to be afraid of him. Yet I know what he meant.

“Thank you doctor.” I smiled. He took out a paper and looked at me.

“Name?”

“Yo. Er…. It's Wayo Panchyasawad.” He stopped writing and looked up at me.

“Wayo?” He looked into my eyes. “Are you by any chance Wayo from Suratthani School?” He asked curiously. I nodded surprised at his question. "Nong Wayo from class 105" He pointed his pen at me. I nodded again dumbfounded. He smiled shaking his head.

“Such a small world.” He smiled further. “You might not remember me. I’m a senior from your school.” I frowned and looked at his name plate on the desk. ‘Dr. Kit' it read. My mind started running in circles.

Flashes of memories flooded my mind. P’Pha’s friend Kit! P’Pha had two friends. It’s been a while I thought about him. Although I still dreamt of him from time to time. My first love. My pathetic, one sided, unrequited love. My first heartache.

“P'Kit” I mumbled. I felt Ming shift besides me. Doctor looked at me in surprise.

“You remember?” I nodded bowing my head. He chuckled again.

“Such a small world Nong Wayo.” He rolled his chair way from the table and faced me. “What seems to be the problem? Forth said something about an injured knee?” He looked at me expectantly.

“It’s not an injury P’Kit, sorry Dr. Kit.” I bowed to him again respectfully. He dismissed my apology.

“You can call me P’Kit. I’m your P at highschool after all.” He felt my leg over the pant leg once. “I’m going to roll up your pant leg” He started to press his fingers around my knee and I winced in pain sometimes. He frowned for a minute and started writing.

“Take these for the pain from a pharmacy. I'm sorry I can't give them to you. I sent my pharmacist home." He handed a piece of paper to Ming who took it silently. Then he started writing some more. I looked at Ming. He was staring at the doctor curiously. I raised one eyebrow asking him Why? He simply shook his head. “Here take this letter to this orthopedic surgeon.” I looked at him in fear.

“P’Kit?”

“Don’t worry he’s a friend and I will arrange a private time discreetly for you.” He handed the letter to Ming. “As for the knee, I think we’ll have to find out na?” He patted my knee gently. “Give me your number. I’ll call you once I fix everything with the surgeon, hmm?” He picked his phone from the table.

“Take mine P.” Ming jumped and pushed his phone at P’Kit. I frowned at him. “Yo will never answer his phone. You know how busy celebrities are.” He laughed awkwardly. What the fuck asshole Ming?
P’Kit looked at him strangely yet took his phone. He started fiddling with the phone.

“What’s your name?” he asked still tapping in two phones.

“I’m Ming P. Yo's friend from school, remember me?” P’Kit stared up at the idiot grinning down at him and blinked.

“Hmm… I think I remember you a little. You must be that tall kid always hanged around with Nong Yo.” Pkit smiled.

“Yes P” He grinned more stupidly. I pinched him discreetly. I want the doctor to take us seriously. But with the way this guy is clowning, I’m not sure anymore. “What? “ he mouthed. I gestured him to tone it down.

“Thank you P’Kit for your help.” I stood up holding Ming’s hand.

“Ah, it’s nothing.” He stood up too. “I could invite you to have drinks with me sometimes but being a celebrity I don’t think it’s possible for you.” He smiled broadly deepening his dimples.

“It’s not like that P.” I smiled. “If you are inviting me to a private party I would definitely come.” He tapped my arm.

“We’ll meet soon. Good night Nong Yo, Nong Ming.” He waved at us.

“Goodnight P, go home safely.” Ming bowed to him. And the doctor shot him another confused look and greeted back bowing.

“What was that?” I asked him once we were inside the car.

“What?” Ming smiled.

“You were a total idiot back there.” He chuckled.

“You remember that he was P’Pha’s friend, right?” A funny feeling danced in my stomach at hearing his words. It’s been a long time since Ming has mentioned him.

“So?” I looked away, trying to be nonchalant.

“Aren’t you curious? You know?” he quirked his eyebrows. “To know what he’s doing.” He completed the sentence when I didn’t respond. I stayed silent. I can’t deny that I’m curious. But it’s best to let it be. I don’t want to have my old wounds reopened. “I can ask around, you know. Now that I have P’Kit’s phone number.” He stopped at a red light and peeked at my face.

“No, let it be Ai'Ming.” I sighed. Ming shrugged and started driving again. “Don’t forgot to thank P’Forth for me.”  He nodded.

I laid back on the car seat and closed my eyes. I really hope nothing is seriously wrong with my knee.
