Reagan's pov:

"Kale, he slept all through last night and he continues to sleep." I say concerned sitting on Kales bed with him. It's now the next morning and i'm getting nervous.

"His body must been a lot of rest, he'll be okay" He reassures me, rubbing my shoulder.

"Okay. Um, I think I'm going to go back home and see my mom. What you said yesterday, you were right. I'm going to continue to go to school but I want an apartment for Justin and I." I say to him. He nods, smiling.

"You and Justin deserve a place of your own. I'll watch over him today while you go back home." He says and I smile, hugging him.

"Thank you Kale. I love you." I say, grateful to have a best friend like him.

"I love you too. Now go get ready." He says. I go into his bathroom and take a quick shower.

Once I get out, I grab the new toothbrush Kale gave me to use while i'm here. I brush my teeth and grab the clothes on the sink to wear. I get dressed and make sure my hair looks decent. I quietly come out of the bathroom. making sure not to wake Justin up.

"Bye Kale, i'll be back soon." I say opening his bedroom door.

"Ok, good luck."

I go outside and into my car. I drive to my house and see my mom is home, thank god. I park and go up to the door, knocking. A few seconds later it opens and once my mom sees me, a smile forms on her face.

"Raegan!" She pulls me in and hugs me tightly. I slightly laugh and hug her back. "I've missed you." She mumbles.

"I've missed you too." I say pulling away. She kisses my forehead.

"Are you coming back home to stay?" She asks.

"Oh uh, about that..."

"What?" She asks. "You can tell me anything."

"I know, I just- I want to get an apartment all by myself." I blurt out. Her eyes go wide and her smile drops.

"You do?" She asks.

"Yeah, i've realized that I need some time by myself. So I want to do this." I say clearly lying. She can't know about Justin. I could have just easily ran away with him but I wouldn't have the money. And that would break my moms heart, I care about her too much to do that to her.

"Wow Rae, that's a lot to take in. Will you still be going to school?" She asks.

"Oh yeah absolutely." I nod. I finally see now, the heavy tears forming in her eyes.

"Oh no, mom don't cry." I hug her again and she laughs, wiping her tears.

"I'm sorry, you're just so grown up and I always dreaded this happening." She covers her mouth and sniffs her nose.

"Mooom." I whine.

"I know." She smiles. "I also have something for you. Stay here."

I look at her confused and watch as she walks up the stairs and into her room. I wait and a few minutes later, she comes back down with a envelope. She looks at is before slowly handing it to me. I open it and the first thing I see is money.

"What is this?" I ask her.

"Read the note." She says and I take it out. I open it and start reading.

Dear Raegan,

This is a note to remind you that I love you so much. You are probably confused about the money, but it's all for you. I had your mother promise me she would give it to you when she thought it was time. You are growing up son and I know you like your alone time. So take this and use it wisely. I love you and i'm always looking down on you.

Once I finish reading, I can feel tears going down my face. I look up to my mom.

"When did d-dad write this?" I ask trying to stop my tears. She comes closer and puts her hands on my cheeks.

"Around when you were about eight years old." She says. My eyes widened.

"So he knew- he k-knew he was..." I trial off not wanting to say it.

"Yes...he knew he wasn't going to make it." She says. I try my best to not cry in front of my mom but I fail. She hugs me tightly and I hug her back crying into her shoulder.

"I miss him." I whisper.

"I know you do." She says pulling away. I look down at the envelope.

"I-i can't take this." I say trying to hand her back the envelope.

"No no, you deserve every last dollar in there. Use it to rent your apartment until you get a job. It'll be enough." She smiles. I wipe my tears, nodding.

"Ill be back soon. I'm going to go back to Kales and search for an apartment."

"Ok be in touch. I love you Rae."

"I love you too." I say and kiss her cheek. I head back to Kales.

Once I get there, I go inside. I look to my right and see Justin and Kale on the couch. It looked like Kale made Justin a sandwich. I walk over and Justin smiles at me.

"Hey guys." I sit down next to Justin. "Are you feeling better?" I ask him. He kisses my cheek and nods.

"What's in the envelope?" Kale asks beside me. Justin notices too and looks at me with a curious expression. I open it slowly.

"It's money." I say pulling some out.

"Woah! From who?" He asks.

"My dad." I say smiling a bit. "He wrote a note too, but this means i'll be able to afford an apartment until I get a job."

"That's great Rae." Kale smiles at me. I look over at Justin to see him smiling also.

"You really want us to be on our own?" He asks.

"Of course I do. I love you and we can't stay here forever." I say kissing his lips.

"I love you too." He says quietly. Then his little arms wrap around my torso, squeezing tightly. I wrap my arms around him and hug back just as tight.

This chapter was so bad, i'm so sorry. I had no ideas! I also didn't edit this is. But vote anyway ig but don't comment because I know, it's bad 😂
