Alice walks out of FP's bedroom after waking up and sighs when she sees him sitting on the couch, eating a bag of chips and about to open a beer.
She walks over to the couch and yanks the bottle from his hands, he stares up at her. "Hey, what was that for?"
"It's nine o'clock in the morning, FP, it's hardly time to be drinking." She sets the bottle down on the coffee table and he pulls her down to sit in his lap.
"Yeah, well it's five o'clock somewhere." He counters and she narrows her eyes at him. "I'm kidding. Good morning, babe." He kisses her temple and pulls a blanket up around them as they cuddle into each other on his couch.
"Morning." She mumbles, eyebrows knitting together as she thinks hard about something. "Can I suggest something?"
"Be my guest."
"Okay, well no interrupting or objecting until I'm done."
"I promise."
"Go visit your dad."
"No." He immediately answers.
"FP-"
"Alice, you know I can't."
"You don't know that, FP, you haven't even tried. You know I love you and I'll support you no matter what you do but I think you need this just as much as he does. He misses you and you miss him."
"I don't know if I can see him in there knowing it's all my fault."
"I know it's hard but I really think it will be good for both of you. I'll even go with you if you want, moral support."
He thinks about it for a minute before letting out a reluctant, "Fine."

The two teens walk hand in hand into the prison. "You two are here for a visit I assume?" The sheriff says when they walk in.
"Yes, we're here to see Forsythe Pendleton Jones." FP replies.
"Let me just check to see if he's up for company, who should I say is here to visit?"
"His son." The sheriff nods and walks off, promising to be return as soon as possible.
FP holds Alice's hand tightly as they wait and soon the sheriff comes back. "Follow me." FP nods and goes to move but stops when Alice rigs on his hand.
"Maybe you should go in there alone. I mean he's expecting you, not you and me, I don't want to ruin his time with you. I'll go if you want me too but I do think it would be good for you two to have a one on one talk."
"Maybe you're right. Will you wait here though?"
"Of course. Take as long as you need." She smiles at him and he kisses her softly before following the sheriff.
He's guided to a chair in front of a glass window and is told that his dad will be coming out shortly.
The sight of his dad in handcuffs makes FP's heart ache and he can't help but feel extremely guilty that his own stupidity landed his dad back in this hell hole.
"Hey kid, wasn't expecting you." His dad speaks into the phone, smiling at his son.
"Alice convinced me to come, said it would be good to see each other."
"She's a smart girl that one. I'm shocked she convinced you to come, you're so damn stubborn it's hard to convince you to do anything."
"What can I say? It's hard to say no to her." FP smiles and so does his dad. "I don't like seeing you in here."
"I know."
"It's why I haven't come to visit you."
"I get it, I don't blame you, it's hard. I wouldn't be able to handle seeing you in here."
"It's my fault you're in there."
"Hey! You listen to me boy, it is not your fault. We both could've ran and got away clean but I was an idiot and decided to stay behind and finish the run. It's not your fault."
"It sure feels like it."
"It's not-" his dad is cut off by a guard saying visitation is almost over and to wrap up all conversations.
"Alright, I guess we have to cut this short. Now listen, and listen good. Be good. Don't get mixed up in the hard shit, don't do drug runs, they never get you anywhere good... clearly." His dad scoffs into the phone. "And don't mess up with Alice. You've got something special with her and from what I've heard you pushed people away after I went to the slammer. Don't do that. Don't push people away, especially her. Embrace her, let her love you... I haven't known her long but from what I've gathered, she's head over heels for you kid, that girl would take a bullet for you. Don't let her go."
FP nods slowly as he tries to discreetly wipe his tears eyes. His dad is being ripped away from him yet again. "You be good too. Maybe you'll get out early again. And I'm sorry that my dumb ass got you sent in here again."
"Don't blame yourself, I told you it's not your fault. And for the record, I would take life in prison to save you, don't think I wouldn't."
FP laughs softly and smiles at his dad through the glass. "I love you dad."
"I love you too, kid."

When he walks out of the visitation area he sees Alice sitting at the front of the building, where they parted earlier, flipping through a magazine.
"Hey, baby." He greets her, grabbing her attention. She looks up at him and quickly sets her magazine down and walks over to him, placing her hands on his cheek. "How was it?" She asks.
"Not as bad as I thought it would be . Thank you for convincing me to come."
"I'm always right, you're gonna have to start believing me more often." She leans up on her tippy toes to kiss him and then takes his hand. "Let's go home."
