Everything will be okay :: Neville Longbottom

It was one of those nights where I couldn't sleep. I was laying awake in bed, watching the rain fall from the sky, it was calming and relaxing but didn't do the trick.

Earlier that day, I found out my boyfriend of two months, Blaise had cheated on me with none other than Pugface Parkinson. I wasn't surprised, and I wasn't hurt either. I should've expected it.

I hadn't shed a tear, and I hadn't shown any sort of weakness, but maybe that's why I'm awake so late in the night.

I got up from my bed and carefully walked down the stairs to the common room, thinking about going for a late night stroll around the castle, but decided to grab my brother Harry's invisibility cloak. I was careful and quiet walking up to the boys dorms.

Once I got inside to the room Harry shared with Seamus, Ron and Neville, I went to search for the cloak but was stopped when I looked up to see Neville was awake.

The other boys were still sleeping and thankfully not showing any sign of waking up soon, as Neville climbed out of bed and took my hand, leading me down the stairs to the common room.

"What are you doing up?" He asked, I sighed and sat down on the couch, him following suit.

"I couldn't sleep."

"How come?"

"I must just have too much on my mind."

"Because?" He must want some specific answer.

"Blaise cheated on me with Pansy, I caught them earlier today."

"Oh my god y/n, I'm so sorry."

"No, don't be. I should've seen it coming."

"That's not how a lady is treated, but everything will be okay, you'll recover and find someone who will treat you well, and love you unconditionally... someone like me." He muttered the last part.

"What'd you say Nev?"

"Someone like me. I fancy you y/n, always have. I asked Harry if he would let me date you and he said yes, because he trusts me, and if you were to give me the chance, I wouldn't let him or you down." He said shyly.

"I would love to, Neville. How'd I not see it that I deserved you this entire time?"

"The more important thing is now you do." He smiled and held my hand, as we fell asleep on the couch that night, both of us at peace.
