District One Female: Phalene Papillion

Appearance: Phalene is  an oddball for her District. Whereas most girls in the District spend  their time making sure their appearance is perfect, Phalene doesn't  really care about how she looks. Her blonde hair, although the same  color as most of the girls in the District, is typically put into one  large braid, that reaches her mid-back. Phalene's eyes are green, like  grass. She is about average height, but on the skinny side with plenty  of muscle. Her features are perfectly fine, but Reaping Day was one of  the first days Phalene didn't have mud on her.

Personality: Phalene is  fairly reserved. If the right people came around she would be less so,  but she isn't a very trusting person, and the citizens of District One  aren't known for their trustworthiness. She is a very likable person, if  you don't mind all of her stories and jokes being about the dogs she  sold. Phalene is a caring person, and was one of the students they  considered sending to the Capitol, to work in the medical field. She is  intelligent, her ability to get through a crowd without drawing  attention to herself is unmatched. Like everyone though, Phalene has a  mean side. She has rarely ever used it, but who can forget the day that  she dumped Sparkle Fantastique into a tub of wet dog food?  Phalene  honestly doesn't like hurting people, and has become a master at Klingon  painlessly.

Background: Phalene's  family trades dogs. They get the dogs from District Ten, make sure that  they are trained and Capitol-ready, then they find the perfect home for  the dog and send it off on its way. It's probably where Phalene gets  most of her personality traits. Her dogs have taught her the meaning of  life. She decided when she had to start training that, if she had to  kill, she would do it in the most painless way possible. Her  minimalistic approach to fighting has made her a very unique trainee,  and in some ways one of the most skilled. Phalene may not be well liked  by the other girls in her District, they say she's just District Ten  scum that made it to District One, the adults genuinely like her.

Weapon of choice: Phalene is fine with using anything with a blade, a sword, an axe, a knife. An axe is her favorite though.

District Token and  Relevance: Phalene brought a diamond ring, it has silver decoration so  that it looks like a butterfly. She got it for her sixteenth birthday,  and it's her favorite piece of jewelry, and the only she'll wear.
