Name: Vetalia "Veta" Rei

[Rei is pronounced "Ray"]

Age: 16

Gender: Female

Faction: Dauntless

Age: 16

Appearance: The  first thing anyone notices about Vetalia is that she is short, not  uncomfortably so, in fact, she is of a rather average height, yet more  of less never stands up straight, and that she is willowy in a mystical  way. The next thing anyone notices is the grey, almost silver cover of  her eyes, which pop out because of the thick black lashes. Her hair is  more or less always pulled away from her face, making it difficult to  assess its true colour beneath the large headphones she uses to listen  to books. Yet when down, it is possible to see that Vetalia's hair is  black, not midnight, as in the sunlight it appears a deep reddish brown,  but still dark enough to contrast against her ivory skin.

Personality: Vetalia  is smart, growing up in Erudite means you have to be, and thanks to her  parents, she struggled through 6 long years of the highest level there  is in schooling, including honor courses for those few subjects she was  actually good at. However, Vetalia isn't nearly as smart as other  children her age, and it is often noticed that while she sits slouched  over a book most days, she isn't ready non-fiction, but fantasy stories  written hundreds of years before. This is partly the reason Vetalia has  almost no friends, if you count the librarian (in the North-East  Library) as a friend.

She is outgoing to an  extent, although doesn't often like to be the centre of attention.  Vetalia gets easily embarrassed, especially if someone corrects her  about something, which they do more than once in a day. Vetalia has very  little confidence in herself, and often follows the orders of others,  however, her choosing Dauntless rather than Erudite (like her parents  wanted) may be the first steps to a whole new Veta.

Brief Background: Vetalia  was born and raised Erudite, however, from an early age she knew  Erudite wasn't the fraction she belonged in, while others her age  excelled at the hardest subjects, Vetalia found herself repetitively  needing a tutor, which was kept secret from the rest of the Fraction so  her parents wouldn't be embarrassed. The Test was particularly difficult  for her, knowing that while she may have some Erudite smarts, it  wouldn't be enough to give her the Fraction her parents had told her  from a young age she would chose.

Yet, by works of fate,  the Test showed that Vetalia belonged in none other then Dauntless, the  Fraction her parents had told her to avoid at all costs, and one of the  Fractions the Erudite of her parents circle despised. Although this  isn't much to go on, considering they hated any Fraction other than  their own.

With much thought and  consideration, Vetalia hesitantly chose Dauntless, knowing she had  destroyed her parents in the act, yet for some reason, she didn't care.  In all honesty, she would tell you it made her happy.

Family: Vetalia  lived with only her Erudite mother and father. Both of whom were born  in Erudite and chose to remain there after the Test, although Vetalia  isn't sure if they had been told they could go elsewhere, in which case  she is sad they never experienced anything else.

Long ago, when she was  only three or four, Vetalia had an older brother, however, he chose  Candor due to his wishes to seek the truth. It was her parents hope with  Vetalia that they would get a child to say with them, however, due to  the fact Vetalia can't even remember this brother, she didn't know how  to escape until the day of the Test.

Other: Vetalia  wears rectangular glasses with thin arms covered in a teal and copper  rectangular pattern. This counts as Vetalia's blue item as the inside of  the arms are technically blue. Vetalia isn't completely blind without  them, in fact, not wearing them only makes the word slightly blurry,  however, wearing them helps her not get headaches. She has been wearing  them for the past 3 years or so, and because of how thin the rim is, she  sometimes forgets she is even wearing them, until they slide down her  nose or she gets irritated from wearing them for so long. Even though  she is no longer part of Erudite and no longer is required to wear blue,  she still plans on continuing to wear them so her head and eyes won't  hurt.
