District One: Spencer Pierce

Looking through the  mirror on the train, I stare back at my reflection, wondering why. Why  would I even want to volunteer for this game? I'm far too fabulous to  die, I thought, as I straighten my tie, and smile wearily at my  reflection.

The train stops moving  and jitters to a halt, and I hear the squeak of the gears slowing down.  The train has stopped. Has something gone wrong, or worse, maybe the  train conductor died? My mind wanders to the worst case scenario, but my  conscience is leaning towards the fact that I'm being overdramatic. I  have a short, mental panic attack, when I hear a short but stern knock  on my door.

I'm guessing it's my  mentor, Glow, coming to tell us about what happened. I swing the door  open, ready to hurl questions at my mentor. It's not Glow who answers  the door, but instead, it's a professional looking man, with long hair  fit into a ponytail and everything, and I take in that this man has a  reason to be at a tribute's door.

I did a double take, and  realized that this man was no ordinary man, but was Fillius Ravenscar,  one of the Gamemakers. He nods, and I'm about to ask why he is standing  at my door when he gestures to move forward. I reluctantly follow him,  ready to badger him with questions.

He leads me to another  room on the train, and my curiosity raises higher. I follow, entering  the room, which is a bad choice, because he shuts the door, leaving me  alone in the poorly lit room. I'm not claustrophobic, but now I'm  confused. Why would he put me in here? I notice words scrawled onto the  side, and I see that it is a riddle. 'Why is a raven like a writing  board?'

That doesn't make any  sense. I'm not very observant, but I was never good with riddles. I  might as well figure it out. Uhm, they both have legs? I'm not  philosophical. A raven and a writing board are similar because they  aren't, and if they have differences in common, clearly those  differences are something they have in common.

I make no sense, but who cares; I'm fabulous.

*tick tock tick tock

"What's Taking so Long?"

I mumbled as I played  with the rock necklace that sits on my chest lightly. I seem keep  remembering that at times like this, Fel would always find a way to kill  the silence.

"Ugh I wish Fel was here right now. This silence will kill me far before I enter the arena."

I instantly stopped  mumbling to myself as I heard 3 loud knocks on the door. I hurriedly  opened it, not wanting to keep my stylist waiting.

I stopped & stared  at the door as a tall looking man with his hair slid back into a  pony-tail and in pure white clothes really brings out his Ivory colored  skin. Wait haven't I seen this guy before?

"Wait you're one of the gamemaking panel last year right? Fillius Ravenscar?"

He nodded & stood there staring at me starting to make me feel uneasy.

*Is this guy Imagining I'm standing full naked in front of him?*

After a moment of Akward  silence he nodded to me which I guess was a sign that means I had to  follow him. With every step I could hear the heels of our shoes tapping  loudly. Lost in my thoughts, It was late when I realized I had stepped  inside a steel room.

Fillius gave me one  Mocking smirk as he shut the door. I tried banging it as I screamed  hoping for someone to open the Goddamn door. Pain covering my fist I  gave up rested my back on the wall behind me as I slowly slid down. Not  knowing of what to do my eyes kept on wandering around the room until I  noticed writings on the wall.
