Enver ran for the Ferris wheel.

He was done with  dramatics, he was done with being thrown about and being put through  mental torture. The sooner this was over, the better. He had spend the  entire time fighting against what he was, who he was... For what? Not a  single tribute had said a kind word to him, not a single tribute had  thought him worthy enough to Allie with - in a game full of competitors  Enver was still alone.

And now? Now that his  re-boot had kicked in and his body was becoming more mechanical with  everybreath, yet his mind was becoming more human? How could he survive  that change? Did he want to?

When Enver reached the  ferris wheel, he took a moment to catch his breath and look around him.  The carnival was decimated - like it had been hit with a sudden plague  that had left everything in ruin. Rides overturned, food rotting on the  floor from where it had been dropped... and was that blood staining the  metal rails? He cocked his head - maybe the forest hadn't been so bad.

Hearing footsteps in the  distance, Enver knew he should move to try and get a better vantage  point so he turned and began to scale the Ferris wheel. Far easier than a  tree, he thought, more things to hold onto. Soon he reached the top and  he settled down in one of the Ferris cars and peered down. However, as  he did that a small box caught his eye - it had a paper note attached to  it that had his name printed on it.

With nimble fingers  Enver picked up the box and pulled it open. A screwdriver fell out along  with some tweezers. He sighed, he knew right away what this was - the  basic repair kit for his robotic arm. No food, no water, no medicine or  protection... only tools to keep his mechanical heart beeping. Really  though, he expected nothing less - his mother had acted like a machine  long before Enver became one.

Underneath the tools  another peice of white paper sat; this one however, he recognised. It  was his own handwriting and it was the letter he was asked to write  after he found out he was joining the hunger games. He re-read the ten  disjointed words.

'Enver feel, Enver die. Enver doesn't feel, Enver is Victor.'

He knew the truth in his  simple words, when a more logical and sane Enver had been around that  may have given him strength to carry on - however the Enver reading the  words now was not the same. He'd died - twice, murdered countless  amounts of times and seen things no person should ever see. THIS Enver  didn't like those words and didn't take kindly to them. He ripped the  paper in two and threw it off the edge - watching it float away in the  breeze.

A groaning noise from  the fairground floor caused Enver to peer over the rusted edge of the  seat.He cocked his head when he saw some kind of brown mud-like creature  dragging it's body along. Oddly enough though, it had a clowns wig and  nose... strange, he thought as it watched it disappear into the foggy  fairground. He waited for a few moments longer but when he saw no sign  of anymore life, he made his way back down the Ferris wheel.

His feet hit the floor with a thud that seemed to echo like a graveyard. He shuddered and took a few steps into-

"Fitting for a dead man  walking?" said a voice. It was high pitched - maniacal - scary. Enver  turned and what he saw, made him rub his eyes until they were red.

A mango - like the fruit  - with a face, stared down at him. "Have I lost my mind?" he asked,  looking at his fruitbowl like it was a figment of his imagination.

"Probably," it said,  "but we're all mad here." Enver said nothing in return - just stared at  it. "I've never popped a robot before. I wonder what you sound like?"

Enver blinked. "Cyborg. Not Robot. Get your facts right."

It's eyes seem to glint  with something dark as it opened up its jagged mouth. "Doesn't matter  either way, does it? I'm going to squash you regardless."

He shrugged. "Try it."

The mango accepted the  challenege and rolled forward - it was slow and Enver t a step to the  side, watching it flail around. This went on for a few moments befre  Enver grew bored. The mango rolled for a third time and Enver pounced -  with his robotic arm, he dug it right inside the soft fruit. It screamed  but Enver paid no attention and simply continued to pull open the fruit  - by the time he was done, he was sat in a puddle of mango juice and  flesh. It was then he realised how hungry he was...

He picked up a handful  of Mango, toying with the idea of eating it. Well, he thought, Enver  doesn't feel... so maybe, Enver doesn't think.

Enver shrugged. "We're all mad here," he said as he gorge himself on the sweetest Mango he'd ever tasted.
