Next thing I know, I'm racing out of my lab. I clicked on my earpiece. "ROBERT, locate Steve Rogers!"
"Located." I followed ROBERT's directions and I found Steve, outside, looking solomnly at the field.
My panting triggered him to look at me. "Why the long face?" I asked through heavy breathes and he chuckled sadly and looked back to the field. "Let me guess, he turned into a baby."
"Among other things, yeah. What's up?" He asked.
"That's the EPR paradox. Instead of pushing Lang through time, you might've wound up pushing time through Lang. It's tricky. Dangerous. Someone could've cautioned you against it."
"You did." Steve admitted with a nod.
I dramatically gasped. "Oh, did I?" He reflected my smirk. "Thank God I'm here. Regardless, I fixed it." I held up my fist which had a GPS attached to my palm. "A fully functioning time-space GPS."
"How long did that take you? First try?"
"Eh? Ten, but who's counting?"
"Not me. Good work." Steve held out his hand. I hesitated, but instead I hugged him.
"I've missed you, Steve." I said. "Not just the five years. I mean since Germany."
"Me too. I am glad you were able to keep your life after the others were arrested. I would've hated taking you on the run." He released me. "You thinking of going back to Midtown?"
"Yeah? I might wait till we bring everyone back. That might be weird, having me come back. I'm sure everyone thinks I'm dead. Anyway, hopefully they'll hear my last name and take me back!"
"You're a smart kid, too." He complimented and I shrugged.
"I try." I picked up the round bag I lugged from my lab. "That reminds me." I pulled out of the bag a fixed, repainted, vibranium, Captain America shield.
"Kathleen, I don't know..." Steve sighed hesitantly.
"Why? My grandpa made it for you and you know Tony would want you to have it back. No offense, but that 'shield' from Wakanda could literally have been used as a dinner plate." He laughed and looked at the shield again, still reluctant. "Plus, if you don't take it, I'll give it to Morgan and she'll take it sledding."
