"He isn't coming back, is he?"

I shuffled through the loads of debris that was in front of me for what felt like miles. The workers of damage control and the remaining Avengers were cleaning through everything and picking out what could be salvaged for when the Avengers Facility could be rebuilt.

"Hey, Kathleen!"  I heard Bucky call from somewhere behind me.  I stood up and turned around.

"Yeah?"  He waved me over to him.

"We need your help with this!"  I immediately started heading over to where he was.

"What is it?"  I asked when I had gotten to him.

"We're sending the Stones and Thor's old hammer to the times they were taken."  He explained, walking back to what we called the "Avengers Camp".

"Why?"

"Something Banner said about restoring peace and preventing the creation of dark futures and alternate timelines."

"Okay, so, the usual."  I nodded and saw the familiar circle of tents.  Looking past them, I saw our temporary time travelling platform with what we could get of Bruce's old computers.  I saw Steve in his uniform taking to Sam while looking at the Stones.

"Remember... you have to return the Stones at the exact moment you got them.  Or you're gonna open up a bunch of nasty alternative realities."  Bruce reminded Steve.

"Don't worry, Bruce."  Steve nodded.  "Clip all the branches."  He said, gesturing to Mjonir which sat on the ground.

Ever since I touched the Mind Stone, I got a huge power boost and I now was hearing thoughts that I wasn't asking to hear.  I've been just ignoring them for the most part, but my mind just caught a thought that alarmed me and caused my breath to catch in my throat.

"You know, I tried."  Bruce said, his tone changing less from anxiety and more to sorrow.  "When I had the gauntlet, the Stones, I really tried to bring her back.  I miss them, man."

"We all do."  I said, comfortingly.  Steve turned to Sam and I turned to Bucky.  "He isn't coming back is he?"  I asked.

The super soldier looked at me and I noticed that his blue eyes were glazed over, trying to hide what Steve was planning to do.  All he did was shake his head and I inhaled sharply.

"I thought I was done losing people."  I sighed.  "I lose my parents, adoptive father, mother-figure, childhood best friend, and had Peter along with all of my friends taken from me for 5 years; you'd think life would be done torturing me."

"Life is never done torturing you."  Bucky said solemnly and Steve walked to us.

"Don't do anything stupid till I get back."  Steve said, a smirk of his face.
