4 weeks later...
My eyes flew open and I sat up when a backpack was thrown on me. "AH! WHAT THE HELL?!" I screamed and looked around the room, finding May laughing in the doorway and Peter in the middle of the room in the same situation as me.
"Rise and shine." She said flatly.
"Rise and what?! Why?!" I shouted, adrenaline still pumping through me as I looked at the clock. "It's 6 in the morning! I should be asleep for at least 4 more hours!"
"Not today!" May said, leaving the door. "It's your guys' first day of school!"
How could I forget?! It's my first day back to school after 5 years! I jumped up from my bed, got dressed and ran to the kitchen, practically bouncing off the walls.
I ran into the kitchen, sliding on my socks and summoned the cereal box, bowl, spoon, and milk to the kitchen island with my telekinesis. I poured the cereal and milk and began eating. Peter sat next to me, still groggy. "You seem excited."
"I'm ecstatic! I haven learned something new in months!" I exclaimed, through my cereal. Peter poured himself a bowl too.
"Says the person who discovered the key to time travel." I tried to give him an angry glare, but as soon as his innocent, puppy dog eyes met mine, I broke into a smile and continued eating.

I ran into my home room just as the bell rang. "Off to a wonderful start, Ms. Kennedy." My homeroom teacher said, sarcastically. I didn't recognise him so I assumed he must be new.
"I'm so sorry, sir!" I rushed out. "I just—"
"Just sit down, please." He ordered, harshly. "It seems there's a spot open next to Ms. Jones." He gestured to MJ who was sitting in the back corner. She was doodling in her sketchbook and snickered as I sat next to her.
"Shut up." I muttered, but an amused smile was still on her face. I looked over and saw her doodling a picture of Iron Man. Dad... I shook it off an took a deep breath as the new teacher explained his expectations for the school year.

As I walked through the halls, down to my first class, Environmental Systems, I looked around and saw unfamiliar eyes on me, whisperings following. I kept my head down and rushed down the hall. My eyes stayed on the ground so directly that I didn't see the wall ahead of me. I ran head first into the wall and fell back, stumbling in surprise. I looked up at the wall and was met with a poster of my dad saying, "WHAT WOULD HE DO?" I took a deep breath and tried to calm down as I rushed to class, desperate to be able to sit down.

I was about to be late to my last class before lunch and was running to my AP English classroom, lost in the halls, the school feeling like a maze. I saw posters of my dad breeze by and felt my breathing go unsteady.
"Kathleen Maria Stark!" I heard his voice ring through my head and the world around me started spinning.
"I trusted you." I remembered him scolding me after I hacked Peter's suit and removed his tracker. I felt that he was still disappointed. I slowed my running to a stop and leaned against the wall to catch my breath. My English class was just around the corner, but my head was pounding and my lungs burned.
"Dad!" I remembered screaming when I saw him dying right in front of me. I continued panting and felt my hand slip and rip the poster on the wall I was leaning on. I looked up and saw his face on the poster staring at me.
"I am Iron Man." I felt my heart hammering in my chest and my lungs trying desperately to keep up, all while my brain was spinning, hearing every thought from everyone around me.
All of a sudden, I felt two arms wrap around me from in front of me. "Ssh, you'll be fine, Kathy... I'm here..." my eyes began to water as I gripped on to his jacket. He pulled be into an empty unisex bathroom and he continued holding me tight as we heard the bell ring.
"I-I-I'm sorry, Pete..." I cried from his shoulder and he stroked my hair.
"It's okay, just take deep breathes, okay? Follow my heartbeat." I nodded and he locked the door, lowering me to the ground. I sat on his lap with my head on his shoulder and arms around his neck. He still had his arms around me. "You're okay... you're okay..." he whispered as I gradually calmed down.
"Thank you..." I muttered and he continued stroking my hair.
"You don't have to thank me or apologise." He assured. "I'll always be here."
"Is that a promise?" I asked, looking up at him.
"That's a promise." He nodded, looking back at me. "I've said it before, and I'll say it a million times if I have to, but I'm never leaving you again." His answer satisfied me and so I nuzzled my head back into his neck.
"Good, cause even if you do, you're not getting rid of me that easily, Parker." I said, repeating our exchange from when I was in the hospital after homecoming.
I could tell Peter remembered too, because I saw him smirk from the bathroom mirror as he replied, "I wasn't planning on it, Stark."
