Chapter 9 - The Pirates

As soon as Pan and the lost boys left the camp to go to find these 'guests', I immediately turned to Thomas for answers.

"Who are these guests then?", I asked. I was waiting till Pan left before I asked him, just in case he didn't want me to know for some reason.

"I'll show you", he said with a smile as if he was excited, gesturing me to go out the camp.

"You sure it's a good idea to leave?", I questioned.

"Trust me, he won't be back for a while", he answered.

As soon as that was said, we started to run through the woods as Thomas dragged me gently by the hand, to the unknown location.

We arrived at an edge of the woods, where the beach was as I looked out at the sea. Surprisingly, it was still daylight so I could see it properly. It's always so dark in the woods so it's easy to forget light still exists.

"So what am I looking at?", I asked Thomas.
He didn't say anything he just simply point at something in the water. It was a large ship heading towards the beach, it looked like a pirate ship.

"Pirates?", I questioned in confusion, I don't know there were pirates on Neverland. I looked at Thomas as he smiled. "Why are you so happy about it?", I giggled.

"Because, that could be your ticket out of here you know", he said as I looked at him in confusion.

Despite Thomas working for Pan he was the only one who would secretly help me with ideas for escaping. However, I was fairly certain that he knew I couldn't get off the island and was just giving me hope and belief, even if it wasn't real. But of course he wouldn't let pan know.

"What do you mean?", I questioned.

"Those pirates are able travel in and out of Neverland by using magic beans, if you convinced them to let you go with them, then you might be able to escape this place", he explained.

"You really think they would help me?", I asked,  sceptical of his plan.

"Well....Hook does hate Pans guts, so if he helped you escape Neverland, Pan would hate it and the captain would take pleasure in displeasing him very much", he explained.

"So this Hook guy would do all of that just to spite Pan?", I queried.

"Most definitely, trust me I've known hook for a long time now", he said with absolute certainty.

"Well.....what am I waiting for", I asked rhetorically as I go to stand up and walk into the beach, but Thomas stops me.

"Pan and the lost boys are going to ambush the pirates, remember?", he said with a smilie at my enthusiasm.

"Right", I said suddenly realising what Thomas said.

"Well, you'll have to wait till Pan is finished with the pirates first and by then, Hook will hate Pan even more. Then you can sneak out of the camp or something and find him, I don't know but you have plenty of time to think of a plan", he explained.

"How long will that take?", I asked.

"Usually there battles take a while, so in the mean time I think it's time I finally showed you the good parts of Neverland", he said with a smile.

"As much as I'd love to, we can't. It's too risky", I explained.

"It'll be fine, Pan will be too preoccupied with the pirates to even think about us and we'll go back to camp tonight, he won't even notice we left", he said reassuring me.

"But what if he finds us?", I asked, still conflicted about the idea.

"He won't, but if he does I'll tell him I wasn't watching you properly and it's my fault that you left the camp, ok?", he suggested.

I paused for a second thinking about what he just said, "Okay, but you know I'm only saying this stuff because I don't want Pan to hurt you", I explained.

"I know", he said as he gave me a sweet smile.

"Then what are we waiting for?", I said with laughter and excitement.

He laughed with me and said, "let's go then", as we walked in the opposite direction to explore the 'good parts' of Neverland. I hope this is worth the risk otherwise Pan is going to kill us.
