The chorus of birds singing fill my ears, waking me up from my deep sleep as my eyes peer open, letting the morning sunlight brighten my vision.
After yesterday's events, I ended up going straight back to the treehouse for some alone time and rest. I couldn't help but think about Pans offer to teach me lessons and why he changed his mind so quickly.
Still feeling tired, but knowing I'm not going to be able to get to sleep again, I sit up from my lying position, only to see Pan on the other side of the room.
"What the hell? Can you not do that?", I yell, jumping out of my skin.
"I didn't know you could be scared so easily. You know, you actually look quite happy when you're sleeping", he smirks.
"Were you watching me?", I ask in annoyance.
"Don't flatter yourself, I only just arrived before you woke up. What were you dreaming about that made you so happy?", he questions.
"Obviously not you", I spat.
I remember that I was actually dreaming about Jacob and Eric and what life used to be like before we got into this mess, it made me happy because I thought it was real.
"Ouch! You really going to keep denying your passionate, never ending love for me?", he grins, tilting his head to the side and leaning his hands against the end of the bed.
"Why are you here?", I say coldly with irritation, ignoring his comments that were obviously not true.
"I told you yesterday, lessons start today", he responds.
"Does it have to be this early?", I yawn.
"Yes you've got much to learn, so get up", he demands and I semi roll my eyes.
"Now!", he shouts at my lack of movement and I slowly get out of the bed, just to annoy him further.
"Why can't you ever be well behaved and just do as I say", he grunts, yanking me by the arm and pulling me up. Before I can protest, he transports us to a clearing in the middle of the woods.
"I hate it when you do that", I hiss, pulling my hand away from him. He always teleports me without warning and I'm never prepared for it.
"Hey I'm doing you a favour, you should be more grateful", Pan responds, referring to teaching me lessons.
"I will be, once you teach me", I reply.
"It's not that simple, I need to try and understand how your magic works. Not all magic is the same", he explains.
"Well how do we do that?", I ask.
"I need you to use your magic on me, so I can see how powerful you are. That will give me some sort of grasp and indication on what kind of magic you have, since I have nothing else to go off. In the future though, we'll try to find out more about your background but for now, use as much magic as you can", he says.
"Haven't you been listening to me, I don't know how. Every time it's happened it's been completely random and out of no where, so how can I do it purposely", I question.
"You just need to focus, block out the outside world and only focus your mind on what you want to achieve", he explains.
"But I don't kno-", I argue.
"Just do it!", he shouts, getting tired of me disagreeing.
I sigh and shut my eyes, trying to focus on what I need to do. After several seconds, I look down at my hands and see nothing happening. No feeling of magic is present inside me, at all.
