Chapter 11 - The Lagoons

During the walk to the next destination, Thomas abruptly stops me from walking. I furrow my brows in confused as he shows me that there are dark plants with thorns in front of me.

I notice there is a thick black liquid oozing out of the thorn, like blood dripping. He warms me that it is a nasty poison that's called dreamshade. And that if you cut yourself with it you'll die a painful death.

After a short walk, we arrived at a lake like area of water which was attached to the sea but sort of cut of from it. It had a lot of rocks poking out of it but it looked calm and peaceful.

"What is this?", I asked Thomas.

"It's called mermaid lagoon. There are many lagoons in Neverland, but this is the only one you should never go in", he explained.

"Mermaid? There are mermaids in Neverland", I question.

"Yes, but they are not the nice ones, they are to be feared. They are vicious and unfriendly creatures and if you enter mermaid lagoon waters they will drown you", he warned.

"I guess that doesn't really surprise me that mermaids would be evil on this island, but then why did you bring me here? Your not planning to push me in and feed me to the mermaids, are you?", I asked him jokingly as I giggled.

"No, no of course not", he said as giggled as well, knowing it was a joke.

"I wanted to warn you about the mermaids, their beautiful appearance fools people into trusting them", he explained. I nodded in response.

"But I also wanted to show you something else", he said as he showed me to the another location, only a few minutes away. We arrived at a cave like entrance in the forest near to the beach. It was starting to get dark now as the sunset had disappeared almost completely.

In it was another lake like, pool of water. I'm guessing it's another lagoon but this time it's cut of from the Neverland sea and is closer to the woods. It has a beautiful greenish blue colour and has a small rushing waterfall in it.

"This is Luna lagoon", he stated. "Do you want to take a swim?", he asked.

"What no murderous mermaids here?", I said sarcastically, laughing slightly.

"I told you, not in this one", he laughed.

He started to take some of his clothes off and went into the water leaving some on.

"Are you coming then? The waters not going to bite", he giggled.

"Is it clean?", I asked, cautiously.

"All Neverland water is clean", he explained.

"I don't know", I say unsure whether to go into the water or not.

"Please, I promise you'll enjoy it", he says persuading me to come in and it works.

"Alright then", I grinned. I took my clothes off down to my top, which was long enough to cover my underwear. And went into the water which was surprisingly luke warm and very clear. It wasn't too deep, I can stand in it and it goes up to my shoulders.

"This is really nice and much warmer then I expected", I commented.

"Yeah it's much warmer and nicer then the sea. It's definitely my favourite lagoon in Neverland. Whenever I wanted to be alone it's always been the best place to go. I've never shown anyone it apart from you so not maybe people know about it, not even the others", he explained, I was surprised he didn't tell Fry, Minho and Mason about it, but I guess there's not a lot of privacy when your a part of the lost boys.

"I can see why", I reply. I looked over at the rushing waterfall and walk in the water towards it. Thomas followed behind me.

"This waterfall is lovely", I say.

"It makes this place extra special", he explains with a smile. I return it and put my hands under the rushing water giggling and splashing the water on my face to refresh it.

As I look up I see that there is a small hole in the cave showing the moon and stars and allowing the water to trickle down from the woods.

"I didn't see this before", I explain, looking up at the hole.

My smiling and giggling stops as I look up at the stars remembering how me and Jacob used too stargaze all the time back at the orphanage, before we came to Neverland.

My face turned solemn and I sighed as I  remembered the good memories we used to have before he choice pan sides over mine.

"What's wrong?", he asked me concerned, noticing my shift in expression.

"Looking at the stars just reminds me of being with Jacob before Neverland and how happy we were, even if our lives weren't great, him and Eric made it worth it", I say knowing that he already knows what happened with Jacob as I had told him in the past.

"I see", he says as he pulls himself closer to me. "I know what it feels like, I miss my brother too", he says with sad eyes.

"Why are you not like other lost boys? I mean I know the others aren't as harsh as the other lost boys but there is something about you. Like supporting me in trying to escape. Like aren't you suppose to me completely loyal to pan?", I asked out of no where.

"Something happened between me and him a long time ago. I didn't want to tell you this before but now I feel comfortable enough to talk about it to share with you", he said and paused as he looked like he was in thought about what he was going to tell me.

"A long time ago, after I had spent a few years in Neverland, a girl arrived in the island. Her name was Amelia and I liked her very much, but she was in love with Pan. He was manipulating her for his own entertainment and I tried to warn her about him but she didn't listen to me as pan had tricked her into believing he was a good person. She was only a game to him, so when he was finished with her, he got rid of her. I haven't really forgiven him since but I want to be here with the boys. They don't know about it though", he explained.

It took me a few seconds to process what he said, "I'm so sorry", I say sincerely I'm in a sad tone. "I can't believe Pan would do something so evil".

"That's why I'm trying to get you out of Neverland as soon as possible. Alice I...I love you and I can't let pan do the same to you", he says.

His words take me by surprise a bit but I knew I felt the same way so I said, "I love you too", as I felt the same.

He smiled at what I said and started to move in closer to me. I did the same and soon enough, we were kissing.

A.N: I'm not so great at writing about romance so forgive me if this chapter wasn't so good, it's not my speciality.
