🔥Miozomi's POV🔥
Chapter: 1 Epi: 3
Part: 2
"Exploring the temple has been a blast but something tells me, I'm in for one heck of an adventure."
Finally, after running around for so long Aang came to a stop and gently puts me down in front of a monks statue.
The courtyard is quiet—snow in the seams of flagstones, old incense ghosts in the cold.
The statue watches us with that patient calm only stone knows.
"Hey guys, i want you to meet somebody" Aang said motioning to the statue as the siblings draw near.
"Who is that" Katara asked, looking at the statue.
"That's Monk Gyatso, the greatest airbender in the world. He taught me everything i know" Aang explains.
Aang bows to statue. The bow is shallow at first, then deepens—like the memory reached up and set his hands correctly.
Flashback.begins:
"But the true secret..." Gyatso explains.
The kitchen is heat and sweetness; Gyatso handles the long spatula like a fan at a festival.
He eases a cake from the oven's mouth—steam, sugar, a glint of mischief in his eye.
He airbends the colorful filling into an attractive pile in the middle.
"...is to the gooey center" Gyatso finishes.
Aang perches on a parapet, chin in hand, bored and aching at the same time—the way you get when a future you didn't choose has already chosen you.
"My ancient cake making technique isn't the the only thing on your mind, is it Aang?" Gyatso says.
"This whole Avatar thing and the shapeshifter stuff... maybe the monks made a mistake" Aang admits feelings a bit down.
"The only mistake they made was telling you before you turned sixteen and about you having to find the shapeshifter alone. But we can't bother ourselves over that, we must act on what is now" Gyatso explains.
He gestures toward the window: courtyards alive with lemurs, prayer flags writing poems to the wind, novices racing shadows.
"But Gyatso, how do I know if I'm ready for this?" Aang asked.
"You will get all your answers once you are able to enter the Air temple sanctuary, inside is someone that will be able to help you on your journey" Gyatso assures him.
"Who, who is it?" Aang asked excitingly.
"When you are ready he will reveal himself to you"
Aang sighs in frustration.
"Now, are you going to help me with these cakes, or not?" With a cheeky grin Gyatso and Aang get into positions.
"One... Two... Three" and with that, they Airbended the cakes onto four meditating monks, who are were not too pleased soon lemurs gathered around them feasting on the cakes.
"Hahaha" both Gyatso and Aang laugh.
Aang and Gyatso bow to each other respectfully. Gyatso pats his young students head affectionately.
"Your aim has improved greatly my young pupil" Gyatso says to his pupil.
They both bow to one another, again.
