Marshall was still working on looking for a new assistant. He wasn't looking very hard though because Madelyn had virtually stepped into the role. He liked having her around more. She wasn't always at the studio with him but she did come by every once in a while.

"Marshall, you have a meeting with Paul in ten minutes," she said.
"For what?" he asked, not wanting to get up.
"No idea. He just asked me to tell you to meet him in ten minutes."
"Ok."

She had dropped Maverick off at the studio daycare for the short time she was going to be there. More often than not, Madelyn did the work for him from home. She knew he wasn't really looking for a new assistant. She didn't really care though after the incident with Courtney over Halloween.

Madelyn was also trying to plan Thanksgiving. It was stressful. Marshall attempted to help alleviate the stress by helping and suggesting they hire a party coordinator for the holidays. She ignored it and continued planning it all.

"Baby, you need to take a break," Marshall said.
"I will, as soon as I get home," she replied.
"Mads."
"I am fine, Marshall."

He nodded. She walked out and headed to the office to work on his expense report from the last tour. She found some discrepancies in the numbers and discovered that Courtney was skimming money as well. The girl was due in today for her last pay check.

Madelyn barged into Paul's office to find him and Marshall talking. Both men looked up at her completely shocked.

"Courtney was stealing from you," she stated bluntly.
"Jesus, seriously?" he asked.

She nodded. She saw a magazine on Paul's desk.

"What are you two doing?" she asked.
"Nothing babe," Marshall replied.
"Don't lie to me."
"Courtney tried to do a tell all about how shitty of a boss I am."
"You ain't that bad."

Marshall laughed. She sighed.

"How horrible is she claiming?" she asked, not sure she wanted to hear.
"Claims I asked her to bring chicks to the studio for me then fired her because you found out." he said.

Madelyn rolled her eyes.

"Is she for real?" she asked.

Marshall nodded. He stared at his wife. She was a no nonsense woman when it came to someone talking bad about him. She went on full on defense mode which was not a bad thing.

"So how do we fix this?" she asked.
"Well the easiest thing to do is sue her for the money she stole as well as do an interview about the situation. Bring up her skimming money and getting fired as his assistant," Paul said.
"Will that work?"
"Should. I mean everyone thinks Marshall is an ass anyway so this wasn't a far fetched story."

Madelyn made a face. Paul shrugged.

"Not everyone sees him as a changed man," he said.

She nodded. She looked at Marshall. He was staring at the counter. She slid an arm around his waist and squeezed. He closed his eyes.

"Babe, we will make it thru this," she said.
"I know," he said.
"And regardless, I love you."
"I love you too."

She sighed. They scheduled an interview at the house. Maverick was in the living room. They set up the living room for the interview.

"You ok babe?" she asked.

He shrugged. She pulled him close to her and kissed him. He settled his hands on her hips. She smiled.

"We got this. No hateful chick will bring down the Mathers family," she said.

He nodded. The frustration of it all was eating at him. He sighed. The interview went off without a hitch and the lawyer had been contacted to start the law suit.

"Damn," Madelyn sighed.
"What?" he asked.
"Just a round ligament pain,"
"You sure?"
"Yeah."

He was concerned for her and the baby.

"Babe, let's get you checked out," he said a few hours later when the pain had her in tears.

She could only nod. He contacted the doctor to come to the house. She was lying on their bed. He took on taking care of Maverick so she could relax. The doctor arrived shortly after being contacted.

"What's going on," he asked.
"Just in a lot of pain," she said.
"All right."

He did a full check. She was doing all right as far as the baby went. Everything appeared healthy. He told her to take it easy for the next few days and take Tylenol for the pain. She nodded.

"Babe," Marshall came into the room.
"Yeah?" she asked.
"You feeling any better?"
"A little. Baby is ok. That is what is important."
"Babe you are important too."

She yawned. He slid into bed next to her. She snuggled into his side. He held her next to him and gently rubbed her baby bump. She closed her eyes.

"I love you," he said.
"I love you too," she replied.
"Get some rest babe. Mave is already in bed."

She nodded and slowly fell asleep next to him.
