"Hey babe, got a minute?" Marshall asked, grabbing his wife around the waist.

"What's up?" she asked.

"I wanted to talk to you about some shit."

She followed him to their bedroom. He closed the door behind her. She stared at him a bit worried about what he was about to say to her. He smiled as he walked toward her. She was sitting on their bed. He dropped to his knees in front of her and took her hands in his.

"I'm sorry about letting some of these things lately get to me and arguing with you and being a pain in the ass." he said.

She chuckled a bit.

"What's funny?" he asked.

"You scared the hell outta me, I thought you were going to start yelling about something," she admitted.

"No, I've been doing some thinking after all that stuff with Whit and Kim and I felt bad for the way I've been recently."

"Babe, things are fine around here."

"No, they aren't. I should have heard Mckynna the other day and I should have woke up to Maverick coming in. I haven't been the most helpful dad lately and I should be better. I mean they were my idea."

She chuckled slightly.

"Marshall, we are fine, love but I appreciate you apologizing if you felt that you did something wrong. I am over the other day and I have already forgiven you for it. I was just frustrated that day and I took it out on you. I'm sorry too." she said.

"I know this shit sucks and being stuck in the house all the time is crap," he said.

"I'm normally home anyway,"

"That's true but it's still not fair."

"It's all good, babe. We are good."

"Mads, you deserve the world. That's what you're getting when this shit is over."

She pulled him to her and wrapped her arms around his neck. He smiled and kissed her as his arms settled around her waist.

"Have you heard from anyone lately?" he asked.

She shook her head. Her side of the family had pretty much vanished again. She hadn't really gotten attached to anyone so it didn't really make much difference. He sighed heavily. He had really hoped that they had gotten it together to do more than make their lives difficult. She shook her head.

"Baby, I have my family with you, our kids, Nate, Ashley, their kiddos and even Kim. I don't need their drama. It's fine, I promise. They let their true colors come out and I don't want that tainting you or me." she said.

"I really thought they were good people for a bit there," he said.

"It's fine. I don't blame you at all. I really don't. None of that mess has to do with you or me."

"What did I do to deserve you?"

She smiled and kissed his lips. He smiled. A scream went up from down the hall ending their moment together. She stood up from the bed. He pulled her back down for a moment.

"I got him," he said.

"You sure?" she asked.

"Yeah baby. I got it."

He walked down the hall to find Malakai and Maverick fighting over toys. It was quickly turning into a wrestling match.

"Woah, boys what is going on in here," he asked.

"He broke my tower," Maverick pouted.

"No daddy, he kicked my tower." Malakai argued.

The two boys went at each other again. Marshall stepped into the middle of it. He sighed as he stared at the two grumpy boys.

"Ok, well here's what we are going to do now. Because we can't get a long and build towers without being mean to each other, we are going to clean up this entire room and then we are going to go sit on our beds to think about our behavior," he said.

"Daddy," they both whined.

"Now boys."

They began to clean up the blocks. Once the room was clean, Marshall led them back to their rooms. They went to sit on their beds. Marshall knew what was going to happen as they sat there. They were going to fall asleep. It was going to happen. Marshall walked away from his oldest son's room and found his wife in their living room with his daughter. Whitney was getting ready to put on a movie.

"Get it taken care of?" Madelyn asked.

"Yup, they're on their beds, most likely going to take a nap," he said.

"Sounds good,"

Marshall sat on the couch next to her and pulled her into his lap. She smiled. He kissed her lips and wrapped his arms tightly around her waist. She leaned back into his chest and relaxed for a while. He lay them on the couch, her back to his front. They lay there watching the movie that Whitney had chosen while the kids were all napping. Madelyn fell asleep in his arms right there on the couch.

"Hey dad," Whitney said.

"Hmm," he asked.

"Thanks for picking me up when Mom and I got in that fight."

"Of course baby."

"I shouldn't have yelled at her like I did. I was really wrong and I need to call her to apologize but I don't know how."

"Well baby, I don't know what happened between the two of you but if you need to apologize then you should probably do it. I know it's hard to admit when you're wrong but I know you can do what's right."

"I know dad. I am glad that I have all of you guys."

Marshall smiled a bit.

"I love you Whitney," he said.

"I love you too dad," she grinned.

"What do you want for dinner tonight kiddo?"

"Burgers on the grill?"

"Sounds good."
