The next almost year was full of instances where Madelyn felt off. It had gotten so bad that she rarely left the house and they decided not to go on their annual family vacation. Christmas and every other holiday that year had a tension that went along with it. She felt like someone was staring at her all the time and it gave her the creeps. She was at the house with both boys while Marshall was at the studio. She hated that he had to go when all this was going on. She felt safer when he was home. He came strolling into the house with a smirk on his face.

"What?" she asked.
"They caught him," Marshall said.
"How?"
"He was trying to break into the studio."

She stared at him. He nodded and pulled her into his arms.

"He is in jail right now. Violation of a restraining order, breaking and entering as well as stalking and threatening bodily harm," he said.
"Is it really over?" she asked.
"It is really over, baby."

She threw her arms around his neck and kissed him. He smirked against her lips. She smiled. The boys were all excited even though they had no idea why they were excited.

"But Marshall, what if he gets out," she asked.
"I don't see that happening," he said. "We will be notified if he does though."

She nodded. She was worried because Corey was a slippery dude. He had talked himself out of murder charges before. She had seen him do it. She was convinced he wouldn't stop until she was dead or he was. Marshall sighed.

"Christmas shopping?" he asked.
"Already done. Just waiting on things to arrive," she said.
"So I just gotta get something for you then huh?"

She shook her head.

"I got my family. That's all I need," she said.
"Stow that shit," he laughed.
"Its true. I just need you and the kids. That's it."
"Madelyn, you are something else,"

She shrugged. They ordered in that night. He helped bathe the boys and get them down for bed. Madelyn smiled. She knew the boys loved it when Marshall was home at night. Some nights he worked long hours.

"Babe," he said.
"What?" she asked.
"Come here."

He pulled her into his arms and led her to their room. She grinned.

*two weeks later*

Madelyn wrapped the last of the Christmas gifts. She had both boys down for a nap. She screamed when a hand went around her waist. Marshall chuckled.

"You are an asshole," she said.
"Of course I am," he laughed.

Malakai began to cry down the hall. She looked at Marshall.

"He is all yours," she said.

He chuckled as he walked out the door to go get his son. He picked him up from the crib. He walked to the changing table to change his diaper then walked back to the bedroom.

"There's mommy," he said.
"Marshall, I need to get these last two gifts wrapped," she said.
"Ok so wrap them. I got him."

He gave her a funny look. She smiled at him.

"Oh are you wrapping my gifts?" he smirked.
"No, I didn't get you anything," she said with a straight face.

He lay on the bed with Malakai on his stomach and pouted at her.

"But mama, I have been a real good boy this year," he said sticking out his lower lip.

She laughed at him as Malakai reached out and grabbed his lip. Marshall shook his head a bit making the baby let go.

"Listen here mister, daddy is trying to plead his case to mommy," he said to his son.

Malakai babbled back and smacked Marshall's chest. Marshall faked being injured so the baby laughed and did it again.

"You are a mean little thing," he said to his son.
"Mama," Maverick's voice came from the doorway.
"What's up little man?"
"Tummy ow."

He threw up right in their doorway. Madelyn gave up on the wrapping of gifts knowing Marshall couldn't handle the vomit. She cleaned her son up, gave him some medicine then put him back to bed with a bowl. He went back to sleep. She sighed heavily.

"Gonna be a long night most likely." she said.

Marshall nodded. She checked on Malakai. He didn't have any issues and was playing just fine. She smiled. Marshall was watching football with their youngest son. She loved watching him with the kids. He was such an attentive dad.

"Malakai Blake, get out of that," he said as his boy went to grab something out of the cabinet.

Malakai turned and looked at him before doing it anyway. Marshall got up from the couch and scooped his boy up.

"I said no," he said.

Malakai screeched at him. She chuckled making them both look at her. She moved into the room. Marshall looked up at her.

"He ok?" he asked.
"He is sleeping again. Gave him some meds, hopefully it helps. If it gets worse, we can take him to the doctor," she said.

He nodded. He really hoped that his boy was feeling ok for Christmas. He was just like his wife, they hated when the kids were sick. Any of the kids. It didn't stay with just the younger two. Alaina, Whitney, and Hailie liked coming over to be babied when they weren't feeling good.
