Marshall walked into the kitchen where his wife was feeding all of the kids. He smiled when he saw her. She was still slightly nervous when other people were over. He worried about her when he left the house to do anything.
"Hey beautiful," he said.
"Hey handsome," she smiled at him.
"You ok?"
She nodded slightly.
"Porter and Royce are coming over for a bit," he said.
She froze for a moment. He looked at the kids in the room and pulled his wife from the kitchen gently.
"Madelyn, they won't hurt you," he said.
"I know Marshall. I just saw that the magazines are still latched onto that we are getting a divorce and that they have seen us both out with other people." she said.
"Baby, they know better than that. I promise."
Marshall pulled her against his chest and kissed her forehead. She wrapped her arms around him and leaned her head against his chest.
"Baby, everyone close to us know exactly what is going on. They know that I fucked up. They know that you didn't do anything wrong." he said.
She nodded against him. He smiled at her and ran his hand up her back. She sighed against him.
"I love you Madelyn Nicole Mathers, forever," he said.
"I love you too Marshall," she whispered.
"Mama," Maverick called.
They went back into the kitchen to see what was going on in there with the kids. They cleaned up the triplets and let them go play. Madelyn was cleaning the kitchen when Denaun and Royce showed up.
"Hey Mads," Denaun smiled as they all came into the kitchen.
Madelyn nodded at him. Marshall slid next to her and put an arm around her. She leaned into him. He smiled at her.
"Paul is getting on taking care of the tabloids for us," Marshall said.
"What if we do a second season of the show or even just a special to show people that things are fine?" she asked.
"Maybe, I don't know babe."
She sighed a bit. He kissed her cheek before taking the guys down to the studio. Madelyn continued cleaning the house and getting things done that needed to be done. She put the triplets down for a nap and took the older two outside.
They went to the play set and played for a while. Malakai began rubbing his eyes.
"Tired baby?" Madelyn asked.
He shook his head. She took them inside to watch a movie. She settled them in knowing that Malakai was going to fall asleep. Marshall appeared behind her and leaned down to kiss her cheek.
"Hey baby," she said.
"Hey," he smiled.
"How's it going down there?"
"It's good babe. How are things up here?"
"They are good. Malakai is falling asleep over there and the babies are sleeping already. Maverick wants me to make cookies in a little bit."
"Cookies sound delicious."
She smirked and looked up at him. He kissed her lips and stood up. He went back down to the studio. She didn't mind being at home with everyone there even though she felt uneasy with other men. She was worried about what was being said about their family.
Marshall was always made out to be the bad guy and she didn't like it. She didn't want people to think bad about her husband. He was a great man and he took care of his family. She checked on her son and then went to the kitchen. She started on the batch of cookies.
Marshall came up with the guys as the smell of chocolate chip cookies made its way thru the house. She looked at all three of them. Marshall slid an arm around her again. She leaned into him.
"Mads these cookies are incredible, girl," Royce said.
"Thanks," she grinned.
"Marshall, you need to keep this girl forever."
"I plan on it," Marshall replied, "She can't get away that easily."
Madelyn blushed in her husband's hold. Marshall slid behind her and wrapped his arms around her waist while setting his chin on her shoulder.
"Mama," Maverick came in the kitchen.
"What baby?" she asked.
"Can I have a cookie before Uncle Naun eats them all?"
"Of course baby."
She gave her oldest boy a cookie while Denaun acted completely wounded over it. Maverick giggled.
"Way to call me fat, Mave," Denaun laughed.
Maverick ran as Denaun tried to grab him. Marshall shook his head. His oldest son was going to be quite the handful when it came to his mouth it seemed. He had his mother's snappy comebacks.
"Maverick Blaze," Denaun went to chase him thru the house.
"Don't wake Malakai up," Madelyn called.
Maverick squealed as Denaun caught him on the stairs. He carried him back into the kitchen. Marshall chuckled as he saw Denaun was carrying his son upside down.
"Did someone order a rotten little boy?" Denaun asked.
"Nope," Royce said.
"Nope," Marshall laughed.
"Sure didn't," Madelyn said.
Maverick was giggling uncontrollably now as Denaun flipped him back the right way. He set him on the floor and watched him run away.
"He is a trip," Denaun said.
"He gets it from his mother," Marshall said.
Madelyn playfully hit him. Marshall tightened his hold on his wife. She laughed.
"I gotta get this batch out before it burns," she said.
He let go and watched her as she bent to get the cookies from the oven.
"Damn mama," he said.
She glanced at him as she put the tray on the counter. She transfered the cookies to a cooling rack. Marshall lightly smacked her butt. She rolled her eyes and shook her head.
"Love you gorgeous," he said.
"Love you too," she replied.
He looked over as Malakai appeared in the doorway. The little boy was rubbing his eyes. He looked at his dad.
"Come here bud," Marshall said.
He picked his son up when he walked over. Marshall handed him a cookie.
"Yum," Malakai grinned.
Marshall nodded at him. He set him on the counter to eat it. Madelyn looked at her son.
"Why are you on my counter?" she asked.
"Daddy did it," Malakai said.
Madelyn chuckled.
"Just throw me under the bus, huh lil boy?" Marshall laughed.
Malakai giggled. Marshall shook his head. Madelyn kissed her husband's cheek.
