Madelyn was lying on the couch. The babies were asleep. Maverick and Malakai were playing on the living room floor. She sighed. Marshall came in the house. He leaned over the back of the couch to kiss her. She smiled.

"Hey baby," she said.

Things had mellowed out between them once Matthew was back at home with them. They had the monitors for them which was easing their minds.

"What's for dinner?" he asked.
"Burgers and fries." she said.
"Ordering out?"
"No, gonna be making them here."
"Yum, babe, you are gonna make me fat again."
"Whatever,"

She laughed at him. He smiled and kissed her cheek.

He headed down to his studio. He had a big plan coming up with the Oscar's that he had been working on. It was going to be a lot of fun. He was planning on taking Madelyn with him but he wasn't sure she would even go now since everything with Matthew. He was almost too chicken to ask her.

That night when they sat at the table to eat, he brought it up. She had just made the boys plates and sat down.

"Babe, you know I got that Oscar performance coming up," he said.
"Yeah," she replied.
"Ummm, are you going with me?"
"Should we leave Matthew?"
"Baby, he is doing great and its one night. Please don't make me go without you."
"Marshall,"
"Look I will have not only someone here with them but a doctor here as well."
"I don't even have anything to wear."
"Since when do you not like shopping?"
"Don't be a jerk,"

He pouted at her. She sighed heavily.

"All right, I will go," she said.

He jumped up from the table to kiss her. She rolled her eyes.

"You know you like seeing me perform, baby girl," he smiled.
"Don't get cocky," she said.
"Oh baby."

She laughed at him. He kissed her again and sat back down. Hailie and Alaina agreed to tag-teaming the kids with Dr. Corinne Sanders in the house to monitor the babies. Madelyn had to go shopping for a dress. She decided on simple and comfortable. She and Marshall flew to LA a few weeks later.

He had to go do a rehearsal so she stayed at the hotel and got ready for the night. They weren't walking the red carpet because no one knew they were there. They would greet people after the show which is why she wanted to look nice. It was an excuse to dress up.

She was ready when he came back to the room. He stepped inside and his jaw dropped.

"Baby, you are gorgeous," he smiled moving in to give her a kiss

"Baby, you are gorgeous," he smiled moving in to give her a kiss.

She smiled and ran her hand down his cheek. She was loving the beard he had going on recently. He sighed.

"Damn babe, you make me wanna bail on this one too," he said.
"Come on hot shot, you got a show to do," she laughed pulling him out the door.

The surprise went off without a hitch and people were shocked to see him. He practically bounced off the stage to where she was waiting for him. He smiled and gave her a sweaty kiss.

"Gross," she laughed.
"I love you," he said.
"I love you too."

He took a few photos with other celebrities and got excited to get to talk to Elton. It had been a while since they had seen each other. He greeted Madelyn warmly with a hug. Quite a few others had basically ignored her and she would be lying if she said that she was ok with Salma Hayek running her hands all over her husband when the woman didn't even acknowledge that Madelyn was in the room. Marshall was soaking it all up.

"You ok?" Elton asked her.

She glanced at him for a moment. She made a split decision. She smiled sweetly at Elton.

"I just have a headache," she said.
"You sure?" Elton glanced Marshall's direction.
"Yeah, I am gonna head back to the hotel. You want to let him know?"

Elton frowned at her, but nodded. She headed out to an Uber and back to the hotel. She didn't want to deal with any more.

Marshall looked around the room for his wife. He spotted Elton instead. The man was waiting to speak with him. He had been pulled so many directions since his performance that his head was spinning.

"Hey where's Mads?" he asked.
"She said she had a headache and headed back to the hotel," Elton said.
"Oh."
"It was right after Salma had her hands all over you."

Marshall stopped in his tracks. He looked at his long time friend.

"Come on, let's talk," Elton said.

Marshall nodded and followed him to a room. They sat down to talk.

"Watching all that, you didn't introduce her one time to anyone. You didn't say anything about people putting their hands on you intimately." Elton said.

Guilt crept into Marshall's head. He pulled out his phone.

Madelyn: Going to bed. I love you!
Marshall: Don't go to bed. Please!
Madelyn: It's all right Marshall. I am fine. I promise.
Marshall: Baby please. I'm sorry.
Madelyn: Babe, please, its all right.

A panic began to set in. He looked at Elton. The older man sighed.

"She may be all right," he said.
"Yeah right, this is a test," Marshall sighed.

He called his wife. She answered.

"Babe," he said.
"It's ok, Marshall. Just not my scene," she said.
"I got like another half hour and then I am coming to you,"
"Marshall, enjoy this. You deserve it. I am just gonna go to bed."
"Mads, I wanted to share this with you."
"I know. I have a killer headache."
"Madelyn, I know when you're lying."
"Goodnight love."

She got off the phone. He sighed heavily. He finished out what needed to be done and headed back to his wife.

He entered the hotel room. It was dark in the room. He stripped to his underwear and slid into bed next to her. He ran his hand across her hip and pulled her back into him. She moaned in her sleep. He rolled her onto her back and pressed a kiss to her lips. She yawned slightly as she woke.

"Babe," she said, sleepily.
"Hey gorgeous," he kissed her again.

She wrapped her arms around his neck.

"I missed you," he said.
"You didn't have to come back. I swear I am ok. Yes, I got a bit in my own head but I am fine. Awards things like that just aren't my thing I guess," she replied.
"I'm sorry, babe,"

She shook her head. He held her against his chest. She ran her hand across his chest.
