Marshall woke up on Thanksgiving already smelling turkey. He knew that his wife had started the bird the night before. She was asleep next to him. He rolled into his stomach and just watched her for a moment. He was definitely thankful for his wife. She looked peaceful next to him. He couldn't have been more thankful for her laying there after everything they had been thru. Almost all of it had to do with his insecurities. He had allowed his own drama to get to him and used it against her. She didn't deserve any of it.

He lay there thinking about what he could do to make up for it all. He had gotten her a bracelet for her birthday.

"Good morning," she pulled him from his thoughts.

"Morning babe," he replied.

"Whatcha thinking about so hard?"

"What I'm thankful for."

She stared at him. He moved to kiss her. They were way passed the drama of morning breath. He pulled her close to him.

"Marshall," she said.

"What?" he asked.

"I'm thankful for you."

"Yeah?"

She nodded. He smiled and kissed her again. She lay there in his arms enjoying the peacefulness of the morning before the kids woke up. He pulled her even closer to use her chest as his pillow. She traced circles on his back with her fingernails. He closed his eyes and relished in the feeling of her nails on his back.

"Turkey already smells amazing," he said.

"Good," she said.

"You ready for the day?"

"No, I just wanna lay here all day."

She smiled. He kissed her chest. She closed her eyes and kissed the top of his head. She knew she needed to get up though and start on everything. He stared at her and pressed a kiss to her jaw.

"I have to get up, love," she said.

"No mama, just lay here with me," he replied.

"I need to check on the turkey and get the ham going."

"All right."

He whined. She chuckled. He moved so she could get up though. She got dressed in a pair of sweats and a tank top before making her way down the stairs.

"Morning mama," Maverick was up.

"Morning handsome," she said.

She went to the kitchen to begin working on the meal. She checked on the turkey and pulled the ham out of the fridge. She gave the older boys each a pack of pop tarts when they came into the kitchen. Marshall came down the stairs carrying Matthew and Myles. Whitney had Mckynna in her arms. They put them in the high chairs and gave them each breakfast.

"Morning," Whitney grinned.

"Morning," Madelyn said.

"Is everyone coming here?"

"I believe so."

"Is mom coming?"

"She said she was."

Whitney nodded. Madelyn got to work on everything she had going for the day. She had snack stuff for everyone as they got there. Marshall was in the living room watching the Lions game. He had the kids all dressed in Lions gear for the day. He got the door when the doorbell rang.

Kim and Parker arrived first. She kissed Marshall's cheek before asking where Madelyn was. Parker went to play with the kids.

"Mads is in the kitchen," Marshall said.

She nodded and walked into the kitchen. He went back to the game on television. Madelyn glanced up at Kim as she walked in the room.

"Hey," she said.

"Happy Thanksgiving," Kim smiled.

"Happy Thanksgiving."

"Need any help?"

"I would love some help."

Kim jumped in to help her with preparing the meal. Nathan and Ashley arrived next with their kids and Ashley came in to help. The three of them were hard at work when Hailie arrived with Evan. Alaina wasn't far behind with Matt. A few others showed up as well including Alaina's twin brother Adam. It was good to have family around for once.

The guys could be heard cheering or booing at the game. The kids were playing in the playroom. The triplets were down for a nap.

"Babe, we got snacks?" Marshall called.

She rolled her eyes but put the snacks out. Marshall smiled at her.

"Thanks babe," he said.

"Yup," she left the room.

Nathan looked at his brother.

"Y'all ok?" he asked.

"Yeah why?" Marshall asked.

"She didn't seem too happy."

"She was fine this morning."

Marshall got up at a commercial and walked into the kitchen. He looked at his wife. She glanced at him.

"Babe, got a sec?" he asked.

She nodded. He led her down the hall to one of the bathrooms.

"You ok?" he asked.

"Just a bit overwhelmed right now with everything," she said.

"Hey, this ain't all on you."

"I know babe. I will be fine. I promise."

He nodded. He didn't want her annoyed with him.

"I'm ok, it's just a lot of cooking and a hot kitchen," she said.

He nodded. He pulled her close to him and kissed her. She smiled.

"Come on, I got a lot of cooking to do still," she said.

He nodded. She grinned as they walked back out of the bathroom. She went back to the kitchen and he went to the living room.

"Sneaking out for a quickie," Ashley joked.

"No, he thought I was upset with him for something," she replied.

Ashley nodded. Madelyn shook her head. They got dinner on the table. It had been set beautifully. She smiled as she stared at the table. Marshall came in with the kids. They got everyone set at the table.

"Happy Thanksgiving everyone," he said.

Everyone began to dig in. Madelyn and Marshall quickly made plates for the triplets and their other two boys before getting their own. It was another incredible holiday in the Mathers household.
