The older boys were up early for the Fourth of July. Marshall rolled over in his bed and stared at his oldest son for a moment. It took his brain a few to even register that the boy was standing there. They had planned on having the family over for the day and Marshall had plans for a firework show that evening. Madelyn got out of bed and went to get the babies up.

"Good morning babies," he heard over the baby monitor.

There were three babbles back at her as she began to get the triplets up. He got out of bed and headed down the hall to help her. She smiled as he entered the room. She was working on getting them dressed. She had bought the boys all matching outfits for this year and then bought Mckynna a little dress.

He smiled down at his daughter as she babbled at him. They carried them downstairs for breakfast after they were done getting them dressed. Madelyn gave the babies some puffs while she worked on making pancakes, bacon, eggs, hashbrowns, and biscuits and gravy.

Dre came down the stairs as she was cooking. He sat at the island next to Marshall.

"Thanks for all of this," Dre said.

"You're family," Madelyn replied.

Marshall stayed quiet as thoughts of what he would have done if Madelyn would have left him ran thru his head. She glanced at him for a moment.

"Stop it," she said.

"What?" he asked.

"I know what you're thinking and you need to stop it."

He smiled at her. She shook her head.

"That smile and those baby blues don't change what I said, Marshall," she said.

"I love you mama," he said.

"I love you too."

She sent him to set the table while she got everything ready to go. Dre helped  by taking the food to the table. Marshall started working on preparing kids plates while Madelyn moved the highchairs into the dining room.
