Marshall's new album dropped without any warning. He had decided that he wasn't going to promote it. He was at home with his wife and kids the morning it dropped. She was still trying to work thru the encounter with her mother. He himself was still trying to figure it all out. It all made sense the day the magazine article appeared. Her mother was trying to make herself out to be the victim. She basically sold a story that Madelyn had invited them into a house that Marshall completely controlled and Madelyn was a victim of Marshall's controlling ways.

To say he was beyond frustrated with their behavior and their lies was an understatement. He sat on the couch as his wife sobbed in his arms. He didn't blame her for the story and he was already in enough hot water for the album he just released. He didn't really care since that's just how he was but the tears running down his wife's face broke his heart. He sighed heavily.

"Hey beautiful, listen to me. We know the truth. As soon as this show is released, everyone will know the truth and be able to see it for themselves," he said.

She nodded slightly. He ran his fingers thru her hair.

"No more tears. Not over that witch. I am so proud of you. I swear, girl you are the most amazing person. You made it without them," he said.
"I've only become someone because I am Eminem's wife," she pouted.
"Gorgeous, you made it thru life without them. Who you are today, has nothing to do with who I am. I don't mean the fame. I mean who you are as a person."

She looked up at him. He was tired of his wife feeling any ounce of pain due to these people who gave her life. He sighed heavily.

"I love you so much Madelyn. You are so strong. You gave me five beautiful babies and I wouldn't change you for the world. The shit you went thru has made you into one of the strongest people I know," he said, pressing his lips to hers.
"I love you too. I just hate that they are making you out to be this insane controlling asshole," she whined.
"I am what I am, love."
"But you aren't though. You have never tried to control me. You are incredible and the rest of the world needs to know that. They are all such judgmental assholes themselves that they have no idea the life we live."
"There you go again, being so perfect."
"I am not perfect, Marshall. I just know my man."

He let the smile play upon his lips before bringing them to her forehead to kiss it.

"We got this together," he said.
"Always," she replied.
"No more crying."

She shook her head. She was worn out emotionally. It was all too much for her.

"Now, let's celebrate this new album," he said.

She nodded. He grinned and wiggled his eyebrows at her.

"My freaky girl," he said.
"Shut up," she laughed, lightly shoving him.
"Oh you wound me."

She cracked up laughing at him. He was holding his chest like she had just beaten him.

"You are the abusive one," he said.
"Not even close," she laughed.
"Yes huh!"

She laughed at him. He chuckled and kissed her.

"For the abuse, you should make me an omelette," he said.
"Make your own damn omelette," she laughed.
"But mama, nobody makes them like you do."

She rolled her eyes but got up. He followed her to the kitchen. She made them both an omelette. The boys had already eaten lunch and were down for a nap. She looked at Marshall. He was just watching her.

"Shouldn't Mave be going to school next year?" he asked.
"He misses the cut off for kindergarten but I was thinking of sending him to preschool next year," she said.

He nodded as they ate. It was crazy to him that his son was going to go to school. He could have sworn it was only yesterday that they brought him home from the hospital. Madelyn felt that way as well. She was glad that their life together had gotten better so far. They were making moves that people didn't expect them to make. The show would be premiering soon and the whole world would have a glimpse into their life.

It didn't bother her much. Her phone rang. She answered it without looking at it.

"Hello," she said.
"Madelyn," it was Becky.
"Yeah."
"Your father is in the hospital. He had a small stroke. He is asking for you."

Madelyn nearly dropped the phone. It wasn't the call she was expecting. He had been doing so well when he had been in her home.

"I gotta get a sitter for the kids," she said.

Marshall was just watching her. She hung up the phone.

"What is it babe?" he asked.
"My father is asking for me," she said.
"Ok?"
"He is in the hospital. Just had a stroke."
"Ok, I will call Nate and Ash to watch the kids," he said.

She nodded. He was on the phone quickly. Once they had everything dealt with, she ran to get ready. Marshall knew that they would need security for this one. He got a driver to take them up there so he could be there for his wife. She was right back to struggling again. Once everything was in place and his brother arrived, they headed out. He sat in the back seat with his wife on in his arms. She was trying to keep it controlled but was slowly losing the battle.

They pulled up to the hospital. They were ushered inside quickly. They went up to the room. The waiting room contained all of the people she had been avoiding. Marshall kept an arm around his wife.

"Madelyn," Becky moved toward her.
"Where is he?" Madelyn demanded wanting to get out of this room.

A few of her cousins walked over to introduce themselves to her husband. It was an awkward situation. Madelyn was given the room number. She pulled Marshall from the room. He didn't even look back at anyone in the room. She walked into her father's room. Katrina was by his side.

"What the hell are you doing here?" the woman demanded.
"I was told he was asking for me," Madelyn replied.
"You did this to him!"
"I didn't give him cancer Katrina. Don't be stupid."
"Get out."
"Katrina, stop it," her father's voice was clear.

They stopped and stared at him. He looked exhausted but determined.

"Now leave me so I can speak to my daughter and son in law," he demanded.

Katrina sputtered as if she wanted to say something but decided against it and left the room. Madelyn walked a bit closer, Marshall's hand never leaving her hand.

"Madelyn, my princess," Christopher smiled softly.

Tears were immediate in her eyes.

"I am sorry for what happened to you as a child. I am sorry for everything that James and Katrina did to you. I should have stepped in and I didn't do it. I failed you." he said.
"I forgave you already, daddy," she whispered.

Christopher began to cough. Madelyn stared at him. He reached for her and she took his hand in the hand she had free.

"Marshall," he said.

Marshall looked up at him.

"You have done well so far, but you take care of my little girl. She deserves it all after everything her brother and mother put her thru. I was a terrible father to her. You give her the world and show her what it means to be loved," the older man said.
"Of course," Marshall replied.
"Don't let those vultures out there bother you."

Marshall chuckled a bit.

"They just want money and the ability to say that Madelyn is their cousin," he said.

Marshall nodded. They ended up spending a few hours with Christopher as he talked about everything that he needed them to know.
