The morning of October 16th was one of chaos. The babies were up early and screaming. Marshall rolled off his bed, wondering just how his life had become this insanity. He followed his wife to the triplets room to get them up out of bed. He could hear Maverick and Malakai down the hall. He smiled when he saw all three of their babies standing in their cribs waiting for them.

"Good morning my birthday babies, are you excited for today?" Madelyn smiled.

She lifted Mckynna from the crib first and changed her diaper. Marshall picked up Myles to change him. He was surprised that Matthew didn't freak out on him. The little boy waited patiently just watching him while he changed Myles.

"Ready handsome?" Madelyn picked Matthew up.

Some days Marshall still sat in shock that Matthew was here. He never forgot to give thanks every day that the little boy had made it. He was still haunted by his dream that Matthew didn't survive. He kept it to himself and didn't let Madelyn know. She would tell him to chill out and forget it. He didn't want to forget it. He wanted to make sure that he was always thankful for his children. As much as he hadn't wanted anymore kids after adopting Whitney for Kim, he was beyond thankful for these five.

They made his wife happy and he loved knowing he was the one who put the smile on her face. She glanced at him before they left the room with the babies to head to the kitchen.

"You ready for today?" he asked.

She shook her head. Her mind was going a million directions at once. Her last babies were now a year old. She hated how quickly time went by. She wished she could keep them little forever. She put the two she had in their high chairs while Marshall did the same with Myles. She still had days where she thought she wanted another baby but the kids screaming or acting up changed that real quick.

"Mama, it's all right," he said.

"I just can't believe they are a year already," she said.

"I know, I feel that way too. It's crazy the amount of stuff that we have been thru since they were born."

"Try since they were conceived."

She chuckled. He nodded to her. She was completely right. Things had been chaos since they found out they were even pregnant with the triplets. He was thankful that they were still together. He had been terrified that Madelyn would leave him for good and he would be alone forever. He loved his wife more than he ever imagined that he could love someone else.

It was weird to love Madelyn as much as he did. He had always thought that Kim was it for him regardless of how they treated each other and how toxic they were together. Madelyn just made things make sense. Even when the demons were on his back convincing him that things were never going to be right, she was there.

"Mama, can we have pancakes?" his oldest son asked.

It was still completely weird even after six years to say he had boys. He had always thought it was just going to be girls in his life. Maverick came smashing thru that and Marshall couldn't imagine life without him. He loved that he had the four boys and the four girls even though his life could go haywire in a second with them all. He understood how his brother felt with his boys now. He finally got why most men couldn't wait to have a mini-me. Maverick glanced over at him. Madelyn was just watching him which meant he missed something that someone said to him.

"What?" he asked.

"No studio this morning?" she asked him.

"Nope, here with you guys for this birthday."

She nodded, kissing his cheek before going back to cooking. He sat down at the bar with his two older boys. They sat on either side of him. Madelyn just chuckled when she turned and saw them all sitting the same way. Their chin was propped on their hand with their elbow holding it up. It was like looking at age progression photos.

"If you three become any more alike, I'm gonna be in trouble," she said.

Marshall chuckled. Maverick looked confused and Malakai just giggled. He had no idea why it was funny but his daddy thought it was funny so he did as well. Madelyn made breakfast for their family. They would be having people over that evening for the babies birthday party. She was making a taco bar for it. Hailie and Alaina were coming over early to help her cook for it.

Once the babies were down for their afternoon nap, she set to work on the party. Marshall helped as much as he could since Paul was blowing up his phone about the supposed truce between Marshall and Nick Cannon that Royce had been rumored to have facilitated. People wanted a statement from Marshall and he wanted to enjoy his kids. He didn't care what people thought they knew. He just wanted to enjoy his last babies turning one.

"Dad," Hailie said for the third time.

"Yeah baby," he replied.

"Did you get the bounce house?"

"No not this time. It's too wet and cold for them to have it."

"Mads got them one that can go in the basement. It's an indoor one."

"Where is it?"

"The garage."

He nodded and went to find it. He had found himself slightly distracted all day. He wasn't sure if it was because of the babies birthday or if he was losing his mind to old age. He was turning 48 the next day and he wasn't sure how he felt about it. Madelyn walked up to him while he was in the garage and kissed him deeply.

"I love you and whatever is on your mind will work out exactly the way that it should," she said.

"I love you too," he replied.

And just like that, he felt the fog clear and smiled at his wife. She just had that way about her.
