Today i reached a new mode of playing my instrument. I named it "transparent, without deliberate coolness". I guess if there's something that i may become known for, it would be this. Not technique, not making my notes sound hip or cool, but maintaining a no-nonsense policy of rhythm. I mean not make notes sound longer than my interest in them. Longer than my real honest interest in them. Makes for lots of short notes. Can't wait to listen to the recording i did today and offer myself a sort of evaluation, see how it pans out. Most important would be if i don't get fed up with it.
