Chapter 3: New People

Clementine: You're not my daddy.

Lee: No, I'm not. How old are you both?

You: 8.

Lee: And you're all alone?

Clementine: Yes, we don't know where anybody is. How old are you?

Lee: I'm uhh... 37.

Clementine: Ok.

You and Clementine have your own little conversation, not while the walkie talkie is on.

You: Do you think we can trust him?

Clementine: He sounds nice.

Lee: Where are your parents?

Clementine: They took a trip and left me with Sandra. They're in Savannah I think, where the boats are.

Lee: And what about you Y/N?

You bow your head a moment and talk in the walkie talkie.

You: They're dead, sir. I had to shoot them.

Lee: Oh, I'm so sorry kid. No one should have to do that your age. Are you both safe?

Clementine: We're outside in my treehouse. They can't get in.

Lee: That's smart.

Clementine peeks her head out of the wooden door to wave.

Clementine: See? Can you see me? I can see you through the window.

Lee waves at Clementine as Clementine let's out a scream as a corpse jumps behind lee. Clementine closes the door.

Clementine: We have to safe him, come on!

You both get out of the treehouse and climb down. You take out your revolver, and Clementine has her hammer. You get to the glass door to see Lee struggling with the corpse. Clementine opens the door and you shoot the corpse right in its forehead. Lee gets up from the floor.

Lee: Man! Hi there.

You: Did I kill it?

Lee: I think something else did. Before you, I think.

Clementine: I heard her scream 2 nights ago. Maybe one of the monsters got her.

Lee: 2 nights ago? Yeah, that's probably what happened.

Lee gets down on one knee.

Lee: You two have been all by yourself through this?

Clementine: Yeah, I want my parents to come home now.

Lee has a face of guilt as if he's not telling her something.

Lee: I think that might be a little while, you know?

Clementine: Oh.

Lee gets closer to both of you and puts one hand on your shoulder and the other on Clementines shoulder.

Lee: Look, I don't know what happened. But I'll look after you two until then.

You: What should we do now?

Lee: We need to find help before it gets dark.

You: Yeah, it's not safe at night.

You both turn around and Clementine grabs Lees hand, but your still not comfortable with it yet.

Lee: Let's go. Stay close to me.

You all get outside and walk towards the gate to see two men trying to push a car.
